To mark the occasion KT wore her recently acquired Pilsner Urquell shirt. It was great to see them again and just in time as well because they were off to Slovakia in a few days. It was sort of a family swap.

Mothers group 5 year old birthdays
We caught up with almost all of the kids and parents from SV's mothers group. The get together was at Petersham Bowling club which has lawnbowl greens where the kids just ran around and played. The adults could also have a tasty beverage and great pizza for everyone. The only down side was that the rain came and cut things short. Although it was about time so we weren't terribly upset.

Japanese cultural festival
Not wanting to sit idly, the ladies went to a Japanese festival to learn more about the culture. It was quite a bit of fun and both MV and SV were captivated. Good preparation for a trip to Japan perhaps.

Getting ready for Halloween
SV and KT got into the spirit of Halloween and decorated the house. It was quite spooky in that if we let up cleaning, the spiders would probably make the house actually look like that. MV slept through it all.
Arriving in the CA again
MV, SV and KT arrived in California again. They were met by Babicka who took them to Sacramento in luxury. They made a pit stop for lunch/dinner to refuel.

Last day in Germany for now
After a good lunch in we headed to Frankfurt to get ready for our flights home and onward. Of course lunch was at a German brewery since it was OKtoberfest after all. Once in Frankfurt we went straight to our hotel and made the most of the facilities. We were staying right across from the terminal so it was really convenient. With lots of space we managed to pack all of our multiple suitcases and bags. In the morning the kids helped finish off some things we couldn't quite take on the airplane such as these gingerbread cookies. They really enjoyed them and ate them through out the morning.

Leichhardt Festa
We met up with Uncle Nick at the Leichhardt Festa which has grown significantly in the last couple of years. It was a busy day as the kids first got their faces painted. Then we walked through some of the booths before finding a tasty lunch. After lunch the girls got to go on some rides which despite MV's face she really enjoyed. She especially enjoyed the swings.
