Second Christchurch morning

The next morning both the girls 'wanted' to wear their bunny suits around the house after they had a bit of a play. TV was lucky to get to hold them both which was a real treat. It was hard to pick which bunny was cuter.

Saturday markets

Uncle Carlos took us to the Saturday markets in one of the parks. It was a great venue on a chilly but sunny (late) morning. After walking through the markets we went into the bushland reserve to see if we could find some native animals but to SV's dismay all we could find were birds. On the way back to the car we found some leaf piles which SV really enjoyed playing in. It was the first time she got to really enjoy kicking and throwing leaves. MV enjoyed her pimp pram in which she slept pretty much the entire time.

First morning in Christchurch

A certain little bunny got up at a reasonable time and started exploring NZ, or at least a small corner of it. She really enjoyed it and was very helpful about carrying wood into the house for our fire. Made a game out of it. When everyone was up MV got a chance to cuddle with Carlos. It was a great start to the day.

Going to Christchurch

After a very tough month we decided to go ahead with our short trip to NZ. We had booked it months before and with Ba making a good recovery we thought it was ok. We made the most of it as well because we had access to one of the lounges at the airport which was great as we all had a snack and a drink. SV being an old hand took it very much in stride and enjoyed the experience while MV was learning. SV was a model flier the entire way while MV was really good except for the last 30 or so minutes when she became inconsolable. Partly our fault as we made a few mistakes. It was a good practice flight overall though.

Around the house and to the park

Babička is feeling better and both MV and SV are helping her by keeping her active. They played at home and even ventured out to the park to take in the sunshine. SV and Babička collected berries at the park before making 'lunch'. Photographs courtesy of Babička.

Babička comes home

After 5 days Babička finally came home after slowly getting better. She is feeling better but still has pain and it will be a while yet before she is back to full strength.

She got to play with the girls and watched them as they played as well. The two of them are good friends and play together nicely so far. SV is also quite happy to do little tasks for MV like give her a bath. It's really nice to see.

Last day in hospital

While KT and MV rested, SV and TV went to visit Babička in hospital for her last day. SV got to watch a movie with Babička. She certainly got into it. SV then listened to Babička as she told her stories over lunch.
