SV's 8th birthday celebration

When we were home we had a small birthday celebration for SV. She requested a cornbread cake and KT was happy to oblige. The corn bread also served as a side to some delicious chilly. It was a great little celebration before SV's big party. In case anyone was wondering, MV was experimenting with face painting for her halloween costume.

Around the house

The kids enjoyed the outside with bubbles and general play outside. In the afternoon SV let her hair down and showed off the waviness after unbraiding all of her hair. KT read a bed time story and the kids were all quite keen to listen. EV is really starting to get into books now which is great.

SV's first soccer experience

SV signed up for soccer and this was her first training and mini game. The coach had them work on some drills to improve skills. Then they played a short match where SV made a nice pass and stopped a shot. Her team celebrated a goal which ended up being the only one. We all came out to watch her and support her.

Relaxing at home again

It was nice arriving home on a Saturday as it gave us an extra day just to relax and do fun things. SV decided that MV should start practicing violin. MV was more than happy to give it a go. EV was happy to be able to sit on the stairs and have more time with us without doing anything.

Hotel pool and leaving Thailand

After lunch we split up with some taking naps after a quick play in the bathtub while others went swimming in the pool. KT and TV split the difference as they swapped part way through the afternoon. MV and SV really enjoyed the pool which was pretty spectacular, particularly with the backdrop of landing airplanes. Unfortunately far too soon we had to get our things together and go to the airport. We got through security and everything very quickly, thank you EV, so we had time for a quick snack in one of the lounges before boarding our flight home.

Back to Bangkok for a bit

After leaving Ao-Nang we had a 9 hour layover in Bangkok so we got a hotel room because we got a good deal. Turned out to be a bit more fancy than we expected as the owner only bought the boutique hotel to display his art collection. The reception was full of various pieces that we admired and so was our room. The room was actually several rooms across two levels with quite possibly the largest bed we've seen. All five of us fit comfortably. After settling in we went for lunch and since it was our last proper meal we all got special drinks. KT had a very fancy one indeed, but hey, we are on holidays!

Sunset dinner in Ao-Nang

It was a fitting end to our stay in Ao-Nang to have a sunset dinner overlooking the beach after spending most of the day out on the water. Before dinner the girls asked to get their hair braided and KT took advantage to get a nice long massage to really relax. Meanwhile TV and EV walked around town and found a great little restaurant serving good Thai food and with a great view over the beach. It was a very private dinner and a lovely sunset to match. The kids were in a good mood with MV being very silly and photobombing TV's photographs to be funny.
