We continued building the bird house with both SV and MV contributing and learning. They had to do a bit more cutting and measuring, but this day the main exercise was in assembly. This mainly involved hammering but there was a bit of sanding with a file and sand paper. The girls both did really well and were proud of the final product.

Building a bird house
SV asked if we could build a bird house. Since TV had some left over wood we decided to do it. SV did almost all of the work with TV only providing a hand. She drew up a plan, measured and drew her lines and made her cuts. We all made sure to wear our full personal protection equipment and followed all safety precautions. Even MV got to make a cut with the saw.

More from the excursion
After the dinosaur lesson everyone walked through the dinosaur exhibit and saw the mock T. Rex autopsy. All the kids were to various degrees fascinated and disgusted at the same time. Afterwards we had a nice picnic lunch in the park before going back for an insect lesson. One of the most exciting things for the kids was to be able to hold a stick insect.

SV's museum excursion
TV got to be the chaperone for SV's school excursion to the Australian Museum. It was really good to see her interacting with her friends. It was great to see that she is really helpful and friendly. She listened and participated often, giving answers whenever she could. All the kids really enjoyed the museum and were well behaved.

Everyone home again
Everyone is home again and taking it easy. EV enjoys being in her swing and being able to look outside into the backyard. Some times her sisters are out there playing and sometimes she just looks at the flowers. Later we all watched a nature show and everyone was captivated. At some times even a bit too captivated perhaps.

Getting ready to leave the hospital

Continued hospital stay
EV had to stay in hospital a little bit longer. She is getting better but she isn't quite well enough to go home just yet. MV has been trying to keep up EV's moral and being generally helpful.
