As usual November was a busy month as Autumn sets in and the holidays approach. We managed to do quite a lot of creative play including making masks and dressing up. We made time to go outside as well, including walking around the neighbourhood to look at the lights.

First day of skiing for the season
This year we all got season passes to Sierra since it is the closest resort. The aim of the season is to get everyone able to ski down green runs and possibly blue runs too. We managed to go on opening day and it was a beauty. Cool and sunny with a nice layer of snow to start. Everyone was hesitant but it was a good day getting their ski legs under them. They all did well and had a good time so that they are all looking forward to the next time we go.

Turkey trotting through Thanksgiving
MV and KT did the Run to Feed the Hungry this year while the rest of us watched them go by. It's a pretty relaxed run for the most part with lots of costumes and most people actually walking. We ended up seeing quite a few people including Uncle Terry, which made it even more fun. We then headed to Grandma CeCe's for dinner and to spend time with family.

Escaping from the room
We went to an escape room place and did a room all together for the first time. It was really fun as we all managed to solve some of the clues to collectively get out before the time ran out. Afterwards we went to the spaghetti factory for some dinner and celebratory beverages. The girls got something that had fairy floss on top and was super sweet, but it was fun and they enjoyed most of it.

Ikea visit
As we are moving into the house we realised we needed to get a few more things. Also we wanted to get some ideas for options on how to set up the rooms. The girls got fully into it and looked at a number of different options.

Ride along Lake Natomas
There are a number of nice bike paths along Lake Natomas and we went for a ride. We didn't realise the path climbs up at one point to give quite a good view of the lake below. We also made it down to the lake and climbed around a bit. It was mostly a good ride with a small crash on TV's part, no real injuries though.

Visiting the Nimbus fish hatchery
We went up to Folsom to visit the Nimbus Fish Hatchery where they help spawn salmon and river trout. We got to see some of the tanks where the fish mature and also the fish ladder which they use to get into the hatchery. The information centre was really good and had a number of interactive exhibits like the giant eggs. We ended up enjoying it even more than we expected.
