We stopped in at the cemetery in Zvolen to visit Nagymama's parents. We found a candle vending machines but we didn't get any this time. After walking up the hill we cleaned the grave which had a few things growing on it. We also noticed some of the damage to it to see what needed fixing. The girls collected wild flowers and some discarded plastic flowers too. They used them to decorate the graves and make them look nice. Nagymama definitely really appreciated all of the effort.
We went on a little excursion to visit the salas in Rymavska Sobota. It was a place we saw when we drove into town and Teta Jarka suggested we go take a look as it was a bit of fun. The girls really enjoyed playing with the animals and riding the flying fox. We were especially surprised to see the koi eating dandelion flowers when the girls threw them in. Hopefully they didn't get sick later. Unfortunately a massive black cloud brought in a wild storm which chased us back home.
After doing some much needed shopping including a new lighter and new shoes for Nagy, the sun came out. So we went back to the cemetery. After cleaning the graves and lighting the candles, we enjoyed the peacefulness. The girls decided to place a flower on the graves of every one of the soldiers who fell in WW1 and was buried in the cemetery.
We went to the cemetery to check on the graves of Nagymama's husband Zoly and his parents. We brought some new candles but before we had a chance to properly clean the graves and light them, the rain spoiled our outing. It was just as well since the lighter was out of fluid. So we changed plans and decided to go shopping, including for a new lighter.
We had a chance to go visit the restaurant Fabrika which was fantastic. There is a really nice ambience and the food was delicious. We got there early but by the time we finished, the place was busy.
The girls wanted to walk down to the lake to take a look. The water was really cold though, so they only dipped their fingers before sitting down to warm up. Afterwards they went inside and started playing Uno. Their friend Misko came over and at first was too cool for school. Eventually they managed to drag him into a game of Uno and things got moving. They even helped him with his English homework which he got all correct. The grandmothers were certainly happy to see them together and to spend time all together.
We got to stay at the lovely new house that Teta Jarka built. The girls really enjoyed having some quiet and lots of space. They also loved the view and the giant teddy bear named James. It seemed that they liked the most though was the breakfast bar.
