Riding this bicycle is like driving a train. It is now quite long and takes ages to get going and stop. The girls both enjoy riding it though so we are trying to make an effort to do it more often. Even if it is to ride to the local shops like this time.

Heading home from a big day
A big day it certainly was, SV walked at least 7 kilometres and MV walked almost a whole kilometre while the adults walked over 8 kilometres. We needed to get a small treat to share to get us back to the car. While it was messy, it certainly did the job and everyone had a little more energy to get back, although we did catch the train for a part of the way.

The pylon
We finally made it to the bridge pylon. We walked all the way to the observation deck, having a bit of fun along the way. Once we reached the top we were again amazed by the view, all of us with the exception of MV who was not impressed. Despite not caring much about the view TV managed to get some silly laughs from her to make sure she had a good time too. Even with the Opera House she still wasn't impressed with the view, a tough customer. On the way down we stopped in the gift shop, but only for a photograph from above.

Through The Rocks and to the bridge
We walked through the ultimate tourist area in Sydney, The Rocks. While really touristy, The Rocks does have some interesting historical places devoid of kitsch. As we neared the bridge SV got really excited and didn't complain about the amount of walking we did. She really enjoyed the views while MV was still having fun in the backpack.

Random food fair
As is so often the case we walked into a random event, this time a French fair at Circular Quay. Our first and second lunch plans fell through but the fare at the fair turned out to be fantastic. It was a good thing too because we were running out of energy. After some food and a babycino treat, were all refreshed and ready to keep going.

Walking through the gardens
After the art gallery we continued on through the botanical gardens. Apparently the water form the bubbler tasted better than from SV's bottle. We walked through the succulent garden on the way to the pond to see the eels. We had to walk through a sandstone gate where SV wanted a picture with her making a 'princess face'. We found the eels and moved on to the lions for another photograph. MV found the bamboo and did her best panda impression which was spot on. Eventually we left via a rose garden but first we had to pat the dogs, MV is somewhat fascinated by dogs at the moment.
