Our interesting bike trip
Now that KT is done with school, we have been enjoying our weekends. This past weekend we took advantage of some extra time off and went south to our nation's capitol (no, not Sydney, Canberra). We took some photos of Parliament house before proceeding even further south. After 5.5 hours we stopped for the night at a classic pub with a great balcony and a shed for the bike to spend the night. The next day we headed east to Jindabine where we stopped for a hot beverage and to wait out the hail storm, but not before taking in the vast beauty of Australia. Trying to be prudent we turned back around, as we heard there was snow further up in the mountains, we headed back west towards the coast. Unfortunately our plan was not perfect and we caught up to the hail storm, and eventually finding a snow shower as well. TV had his whole front covered in snow and ice while KT tried to stay dry, but we were both very chilly. Eventually we found the sun again at a lookout on Brown Mountain before heading to Bega for some tasty cheese. Mmm, free cheese! We got some good photos in as well before heading out to Tathra and the coast and a tasty seafood based meal. Our last day we stopped for some more cheese tasting in the small town of Tilba which was very nicely situated with lots of colourful buildings and plants. For the next couple of hours we did not see the sun, but instead had lots of rain, but it showed that our rain gear worked just fine except on the hands. After the wet ride we enjoyed the last meal of the trip with some home made hot soup and a chicken cheese melt. Overall a fantastic trip with several great roads and some very trying weather conditions.
