Lunch and a walk

When we landed in Melbourne we got to our hotel and went out to a great little diner for lunch. The setting was great and the wait staff were terrific. Our waiter was taken in by SV and kept gushing about how cute she is, and of course she enjoyed that. He took a couple of photographs of us before we got our meal, hence the famished expressions.

After a quick after lunch nap we headed out for a bit of a walk through some of Melbourne's alleys. KT did her best to avoid one of the hipster places before heading into the familiar safety of Chinatown.

Airport with Trunki

We got SV a little suitcase that she can ride on called a Trunki. Going to Melbourne was it's maiden voyage and as these photographs show, it was a success. SV really enjoyed riding on it from security to our gate. Then she pulled it around and played with it for a while. As a bonus it meant that all of her stuff could go into it and we didn't need to carry it on our shoulder. SV also enjoyed a close look at an aeroplane which she sees fly over our house everyday.

 

Hat in the park

SV is now getting to the point where she wears a hat consistently. At school they don't let her outside without a hat and it is transferring to when she goes outside with us too. Unfortunately her head usually gets quite hot even without a hat which makes it even worse. When she is playing really hard, like in the photographs below she doesn't seem to notice too much though.

Saying good bye to Naomi

The last day before Naomi left we met up in the park near SV's school to play a bit before we walked to the shops at Market City for a bit of last minute shopping. It was really good to see the Potipas and to reconnect. SV has a soft spot for Naomi and they get along very well.

Chocolate milk

SV was having her first taste of the glory that is chocolate milk. TV decided to join her in the wonderful treat.

Dinner with Carlos and Naomi

We went out to our favourite Korean restaurant with Carlos and Naomi. It was one of Naomi's last days before she and the rest of the Potipas went back to Sweden and the bitter cold. It was really fun with SV being well behaved munching on the cabbage salad and other goodies while we all talked and laughed like we used to.

Baby squirrel

This little squirrel was munching on her snacks in a stripey sweater. We were on our way to the CBD when she wanted a snack. How can we say no to a face like that, we couldn't. But we will need to learn soon otherwise we will be in trouble.
