Saying good bye in Slovakia

Spending as long as we did in Stara Tura and having our own apartment really was like actually living there. See family and friends in our new/old home made it very difficult to say see you later. SV insisted on saying good bye to her favourite sculpture and even gave it flowers. On this trip we managed to do pretty much everything we wanted to and see almost everyone at least once.

We had to end our stay in style, which we did with a fantastic al fresco dinner with family and friends. Ujo Janko, one of the neighbours and a friend, new of a guy who made smoked pork knees which we had with bread and home made pickles and lots of other goodies. It was delicious we all enjoyed it, even KT who usually doesn't like pork. It was a fitting salute to Slovakia which of course included a number of toasts and dessert. A big thank you to everyone for making it so fantastic.

Seeing Teta Jozka

Having been in Slovakia for so long we finally managed to stop at Teta Jozka's house to see her. She was extremely happy to see us and gave us entirely too many lollies. The kids had fun playing together. SV played with a ball and then arranged blankets. MV on the other hand brought lollies one by one from the sitting room for Teta to hold. She also played with a trolley before playing nicely with SV and eating a snack.

Zahrada visit

Teta Andula took us to see some of her friends at their garden. We got to pick delicious grapes right off the vine and swing on their swing. MV also had a lot of fun just running around the garden and exploring.

Baby animals continued

The hammock at the farm proved to be popular not only with our little ones, but with most of the kids. Feeding the animals was really fun, but the lure of the water play area proved too great as we spent a long time there. Eventually we managed to leave the farm but not before having another pat of the bunnies.

Baby animal farm

We visited a little animal farm which is completely geared towards kids. They got to see all sorts of farm animals and give them food or a pat. The girls really enjoyed seeing and patting the animals which were all very patient. SV even got to ride a horse around which she liked. She's not scared of riding a horse anymore which is nice.

Good bye BBQ

As our trip in Slovakia was starting to wind down we had to start saying good bye to people. Auntie Lenka and her family were going on holiday to take advantage of the last of the warm weather and so we managed to have one more BBQ with them. The kids all played nicely together, but it was certainly hard for them to say good bye to each other at the end. They became good friends and had heaps of fun together during our stay.
