Arriving into Munich

We enjoy trying out local restaurants where ever we travel, but it is also fun to see the local interpretation of big chains as they tend to be just a bi different between countries. For lunch we had some hamburgers and the kids really had fun, including SV doing connect the dots on the video machine that was set up. After lunch we took a quick trip along the Autobahn to get set up in our apartment. It was really nice and included heated floors which the girls were quick to take advantage of. SV was showing MV how to draw and MV in turn played assistant as she examined the pens.

Entering Deuschland

Our last destination in Europe this time was Germany and we got off to a great start. We found a summer bobsled run a few kilometres in. We had to stop and go for a ride. SV was really excited and wanted to ride down with both KT and TV. Soon we were on our way again but it was time for a comfort stop and lunch. We pulled into Deggendorf looking to satisfy our needs. What we found was a street fair which was beyond what we expected. It was fun to participate and we may have even made it into the local news station coverage of the event.

Evening in Cesky Krumlov

After a good rest we got all bundled out and we went out to explore the city in the evening and to get some dinner. The kids were in good spirits as we made our way through the old town and across some of the bridges. We even managed to walk through some of the less touristy parts of the town before we found a place to eat dinner right below the castle and next to the river. It was a bit chilly but the warm hearty food and blankets provided by the restaurant kept us cozy.

Exploring Cesky Krumlov

We got off to an early start (relatively) and began exploring the town. We went to the castle to see the view of the wonderful courtyards and bridge before taking in the magnificent view of the old town below. It is a truly wonderful view and SV was inspired to take photographs of it. Eventually we made our way down to the old town to see all of the narrow streets and historic places. There were some funny things to see along the way as well, but SV confidently led the way.

Arriving in Cesky Krumlov

We arrived in Cesky Krumlov having booked a hotel the night before. We were not a quite sure how it was going to work out, but as you can see below we had nothing to worry about. The location and room itself were fantastic. We were just below the castle in the old part of town which was a tourist destination in it's own right. The room was quite spacious and we all enjoyed it, especially the view.

On the road in Czech Republic

We found a really nice restaurant in a tiny town our first night on the road. MV worked on our directions before she did some last minute work in her bed. The next day we needed to refresh our directions so both SV and MV collaborated to keep us on track.

Saying good bye in Slovakia

In the morning we said good bye to everyone and gave everyone some more hugs. It was tough because we just don't know when we will be able to come back again.
