When we did the city tour bus we found a cuple of fun parks. So we went and found them again for the girls to play at. We went to one which had a big water feature which was quite nice but took upquite a bit of space. The favourite was the owl park with it's central aparatus being owl shaped. It had other animal themed equipment too. The girls really enjoyed having an unstructured morning just to run around and play.
We went out while SV baby sat the other two girls. She had a phone and basically had to just put herself to sleep sicne the other two were already in bed. We visited a few really cool places and it was just so nice to be out at night in a city with great night life. We had great food and great drinks in some lovely places, most importantly we had a nice time together.
We continued walking through Gracia and found a number of nice places including KT's old gym. EV was getting a bit tired so TV had to cheer her up so we could walk back to our neighbourhood. It ended up being quite a nice walk as we all got to see some nice parts of the city and its great architecture.
Gracia is where KT lived when she was studying in Barcelona. She was realy keen to go and look at her old neighbourhood. She also wanted to show the girls where she lived and some of the places she used to go to all the time. The nighbourhood has certainly changed and is becoming nicer. There was a new park which the girls went and played at until it started to rain and we ducked in for lunch.
We woke up a little early so we could watch the Barcelona Marathon which started at Placa Catalunia and came right by our apartment. We could cheer on the runners straight from our window. Eventually we got ready and went down to the finish which was only a few minutes walk away (for us, not so much them) to watch the runners finish and to cheer them on again. We enjoyed all of the street closures to walk in the streets without cars. When cars are removed, streets are so much nicer and people really enjoy it.
We finished up our visit at the looking at the balcony with it's mossaic pillars. We also enjoyed the periodic table light display where we all got to point out our favourite elements. Afterwards SV found a geocache just outside before we headed to some shops for a bit of shopping since it started absolutely bucketing rain again.
