More visiting

We went for a visit to see Teta Milatka and her family. They were super nice and welcoming, showing us their house that they built almost entirely by themselves. It was really neat to see. The girls got to try out a new type of cheese which they really liked. Once we got home MV got to have a bit of a salon experience which she in turn gave to her new baby.

Visiting Teta Joska

We went to visit Teta Joska at her retirement home and we were very surprised to see emus roaming around the paddock. There were sheep too but they were less surprising in Slovakia. SV managed to find budgies too, she wanted to send a photograph of them to her friend who has one too. Once inside the girls were on great behaviour, being polite and then playing nicely with their horses. EV was a bit of a star as she got to meet Teta Joska for the first time.

Visiting in Kostolne

We were invited to visit with our friends in Kostolne. The girls remembered playing with Klara and weren't too shy to play with her again. MV and SV were really happy because they got to watch some tv and eat pop corn which they hadn't done in quite some time. EV meanwhile got lots of attention which she was also enjoying.

Xmas traditions

Auntie Andula had prepared a list of traditions which we tried out. The candle boats were fascinating, but the girls were a bit nervous around them. Throwing walnuts in the corner for luck was thoroughly enjoyed though. As was looking for coins in the cake and finding a star in the cut apple. SV acted as Santa and handed out the presents with a little help from MV. It rounded out a pleasant evening.

Xmas with Auntie Andula

Auntie Andula kindly invited us to her house to celebrate xmas with her. We were very happy to do that and we all dressed up for the occasion. The food of course was delicious and included traditional classics including wafers with honey, mushroom omelette, soup and several other treats. We listened to appropriate music of course, and what celebratory dinner would be complete without some silly faces. We had plenty of those.

A bit more snow play

During our breakfast it started to snow so we finished up quickly and headed out to play as it was snowing. EV wasn't too upset about not going outside since she had some fun socks with bells to entertain her. 

2018 Xmas morning

In the morning we woke up to find several presents under our tree. The girls were very excited, including EV, although she was more excited about the rozok than the presents. As a bonus we had a little blanket of snow to wake up to.
