Last day in Paris

On our last day we did a little bit of shopping and some last minute sightseeing before having dinner with the Stults family again. SV rode around in the front pack and took naps when she was overwhelmed. Paris has some great shopping, but a warning to those looking for toilets which are hard to come by in the main shopping district and when found often cost money. It was lovely to walk around Paris on such a sunny day, with virtually no agenda and just taking it all in.

Sacre Coeur

On the last day that we had with Naomi in Paris we went to Moulin Rouge and Sacre Coeur before having a very relaxed lunch at a local cafe in Montmartre. It was another beautiful spring day which we really enjoyed by taking a break and sitting in a playground. We couldn't help ourselves and sat in front of Sacre Coeur for a while and SV took advantage by having a meal and nappy change. During lunch SV enjoyed gumming on a piece of French bread, which is among one of her first solid foods.

At the Eiffel Tower

We had a chance to go to the Eiffel Tower with Naomi just before sunset. We then had a tea/coffee before going back to see it at dusk. We had a chance to sit on the grass near the tower which gave us some fun views. After SV had a feed at the tower she was quite alert and really looked at the lights on the tower as we walked away. She seemed like she was very aware.

Dubnik

We had a chance to go to Lake Dubnik which is a local swimming and fishing spot. It really hasn't changed much in twenty years, with the same rusty swings and other playground equipment. SV enjoyed it so much she fell asleep. We had a good time and the weather was great. Good memories of skipping stones and playing on the swings.

Modern art

We had a chance to go to the Centre Georges Pompidou which houses a large collection of modern art and temporary exhibits. SV actually seemed to really enjoy the modern art including one painting titled "The Witches Six Teats". She starred at it for several minutes while KT held her. I suppose it shouldn't be too surprising as she also enjoyed some of Grandma CeCe's paintings too. After looking at so much art we worked up quite an appetite so we had a very nice french meal and wine. Clearly SV is getting interested in drinking as she was fascinated with her mum drinking.

Slovak food

The Slovak diet is agreeing with SV, she has been eating heaps. At times once an hour, and consequently she has been growing like a weed. In this photograph she is eating a rodzok, a typical Slovak bread product. SV is really enjoying this one.

SV meets the Stults'

One of the reasons we went to Paris was to visit our good friend Justin, Sophie, Emma and Elliot. SV usually likes other kids, but Emma and Elliot were instant friends. They were super sweet to her, and she really responded to it with smiles. She really enjoyed it and played hard, but she was too busy to take a nap. It was lovely because it gave us a chance to catch up with Justin and Sophie.
Thank you guys for being so generous and being such wonderful hosts.

Meeting Naomi in Paris

Naomi made the trek down to Paris and we had a reunion at Notre Dame cathedral before taking a tour of the tower. It has been about 3 years since we have last seen her, so it was really great to see her again. We did quite a bit that day, because it was also Lea and Julian's last day in Paris. We took the tour of the tower, then found a neat shopping arcade after which we parted ways with Lea and Julian. After lunch we went to the Arc De Triomphe and a walk down Champs Elysees.

Leg three of the World Tour

The little penguins were both sleeping on the flight to Vienna. We had a good flight and subsequent drive to Slovakia. It's been five years since we have been to Stara Tura and a lot has changed.

Catching up with Lea

On the second day we caught up with our friend Lea and her boyfriend Julian. We took in some of the sights including the Louvre and Notre Dame. Notre Dame was a lot bigger on the inside then we remembered it.
