Self portraits on the fence

Both MV and SV got their self portraits put up on the fence at school. They were both very excited, especially since they both were chosen for the same exhibition. We are very proud of them and the individual expression they demonstrated.

Flying home again

The flights home were actually quite good. We all had a decent sleep on the airplane with the Air New Zealand skycouch product actually being good to let the kids sleep well. Once we got to Auckland we went to the lounge and had a quiet start to the day with a bit of breakfast. The short 3 hour flight was so much better as a result, particularly for a certain shorter person who was catching up on more sleep.

Checking in to head home

When we got to the airport we had to check in and say our last good bye to Babicka and Brad. The month flew by in a flash and while we were all exhausted from all the things we did and people we saw, it was certainly wonderful. Seeing so many people again was really good and will keep us going until next time.

Park play by the airport

We all stopped by the park near the airport before we headed off. It was a good way to spend some energy before getting on the airplane. It's a good park in it's own right as it has equipment for a range of ages, but the dragons and castle motif was especially popular with the girls this time. EV was a bit disappointed about having to leave but was soon over it.

Saying bye to everyone for now

After almost a month it was time to head home. We said good bye to the family over a tasty BBQ meal. Uncle Rich and Auntie Jeanna popped by to pick up a few things at the house before we headed off.

Last catch ups of the trip

We went to Grandma Cece's one last time to catch up with friends and family before we head home. Auntie Yen and her family stopped by for a masked play date. It started out a little awkwardly with fully masked, but the girls got the hang of it pretty quickly, even managing to play with bubbles. Later on we had dinner with the family and Uncle Richie and Auntie Jeanna came over for some choco tacos.

Visiting East Lawn

The ladies went to visit East Lawn cemetery where Eric and KT's grandmother Jo are both having their eternal rest. It was important to stop in and see the graves and for the girls to know where they are. They found it interesting to hear about some of their ancestry and some of the stories about the people themselves.
