Hrad Tematin

Every time we drive up from Bratislava we saw this castle and we not only never went to see it, but we never even knew its name. This time we decided to correct that. We drove up a rather rough road to get to it, but it was certainly worth it. The surrounding woods were beautiful and peaceful. The hrad is being rebuilt which kind of caught us by surprise.

Going visiting most of the day

First we walked up to see Nagymama and the rest of our friends for a lovely lunch. The girls got to have a nice playwith their friends Patka and Vikky before we walked to see Teta Andula. Once there EV set to exploring everything and the other two set to playing games.

Playing and shopping a bit

After we got up and had breakfast we went to the park to have a bit of a play and run around. The kids had fun as did we. Then we ducked in for a bit of a look at the shops. The girls made some 'friends'.

Arriving in Stara Tura again

We again arrived in Stara Tura to visit everyone. First we caught up with Nagymama before we went to their house for dinner. It was fun to catch up with everyone there again. Perhaps it was even more fun since we saw them quite recently. We didn't stay too long but someone partied too hard and fell asleep on the way home.

Leopold Museum visit

We wrapped up the day with a visit to the Leopold Museum and dinner at home. The Leopold has a number of Klimt pieces which we wanted to see since he worked mostly in Vienna. The museum was really good and we enjoyed walking through. SV and MV both really looked at the art and asked great questions. EV pointed out a few things she seemed to enjoy looking at too.

More hop on bus action

After running around a bit more we got back on the bus to ride around a bit. We got off at the museum quarter where we tried to see the national museums which were both closed. So instead we looked at the statues outside.

Lovely lunch in the Stadtpark

After running around we needed to get some more energy and stopped for lunch. The adults had a beer to cool down while the girls had juices. The food was great and we had a Slovak waiter which made ordering a breeze. Food was tasty, venue great and weather perfect just to sit and relax. No better welcome to Europe can be had.
