Wrapping up our trip

In the corroboree area SV really enjoyed the interactive exhibits and having her face painted by a local woman who told her a story while she painted her face and arms. After a few more rides we had to head off, but stopped in at the Lego shop to get MV a little souvenir. Once we got to the airport we had a quick dinner and collapsed in a seat to wait for boarding to start. We ended up having a pleasant flight home with a lovely view of the Sydney CBD on arrival.

Back to Dreamworld

We hadn't quite seen all of Dreamworld so on the way to the airport we decided to stop back in. SV really wanted to check out the aboriginal exhibits and native fauna. TV wanted to go on the car driving ride. We managed to accomplish that and more.

Beach time

After breaky we walked to the beach for a bit of sun and surf. The beach at the gold coast is really quite ideal, long wide, flat, clean and with gentle waves. It was great to spend a few hours building sand castles and jumping in the waves. Having the high rise buildings in the background was quite the iconic Gold Coast scene.

Buffet breaky by the pool

After palying a few games we went out to try to find some breaky. Turned out that wasn't so easy to do, so we ended up going to the buffet by the pool. SV was excited because she got pancakes and a banana which she was quite keen on. She ended up having  quite a good breaky too.

Dessert on the balcony

After a nice sushi dinner we got ice cream and took it back to the balcony. The view was really good as the sun had set and the clouds rolled in from over the ocean. It was a really pleasant way to finish up a lovely day.

Wrapping up day 1

Heading towards the exit we got side tracked a little bit and ended up going on a side trip. Ended up on the swings and even met Shrek. At the end of the day the park was starting to empty out and we just took it in. We then got one last photograph at the entry.

Water area of the park

Since it was quite a warm day we decided to go and explore the water park area. We had a great time, starting with the kid slides, moving on to the wave pool and finally going down the full size slides. We did come back to the small slides as well after SV warmed up in the sun for a little while.
