We found our hotel which was next door to the famous Karlův Most. After checking in and seeing our wonderful room. We then climbed to the top of the tower which is at the begining of the bridge. The view was truly excellent. The girls really enjoyed the climb up but SV was a bit scared. She got over the fear after looking at the views. It was really quite stunning.
When we arrived in Praha we went to have a look at some of the places TV used to go. He showed the girls his old school where he attended year 3. It has changed a fair amount with some of the big trees in the front being cut down and the dirt field behind the school being replaced by some wonderful synthetic pitches. It looks like it is in really good shape. We also went to visit the clinic where Babicka used to work but unfortunately it was closed so we couldn 't look in as much as e would have liked. Still cool to see though.
We woke up at a respectable time and the girls played floor is lava on the beds. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel so we quickly got going and stopped on the road. We had quite possibly the best scrambled eggs ever. After breakfast we went to Nuremberg to take a look at the old city and to do a litte bit of shopping. We also got some classic German sausages for lunch including a tasty currywurst. Despite the cold it was nice to walk around the city, especially when the girls found a great Playmobile display.
The 13 plus hour flight went well, it was long but we managed it nicely. The girls didn't sleep but managed well nonetheless. It was only while waiting for the luggage and dealing with the car that tempers frayed a bit. Once we got in the car and hit the road everyone calmed down. We drove for about an hour to get to the hotel and the girls all had a small nap in the car. The hotel was next door to a Burger King. It was really busy there but we managed to get a table and a quick dinner. The girls played on the equipment as well before we all fell asleep for a good sleep.
Unfortunately all too soon we had to leave Korea and head off to our next destination, Germany. We got up quite early to catch the shuttle bus and once we quickly checked in headed straight to the lounge. We had a decent breakfast but we were all a bit tired and tried to make the most of the great viewto relax. We had such a good time that we can't wait to be back, especially if there are more robot helpers around.
We eventually made our way to the Namdaemun Market where we did a little bit of shopping. One of the more important purchases were new set of gloves because it was getting quite cold. The girls really enjoyed looking at things and evven tried a few snacks. Eventually though it was time to wrap it up and head back to the train and our hotel. All up we ended up walking over 11kms and little to no complaint besides being a bit chilly. Such a great day and a nice way to start a holiday.
We strolled in a general direction in Seoul towards a market we wanted to find, but first we looked for lunch. There were a few false starts but finally we managed to find a traditional bbq place which had realy delicious food and some interesting new flavours. Afterwards we ran into a character we new as walked further. We stopped in for a bit of afternoon tea because MV needed to refuel after hitting the giant drum when the actual drummers asked her if she wanted to do it. They loved how hard she hit the drum. As we continued we found a true mix of new and old in the form of a temple which now sits in the middle of a roundabout. Seoul is an interesting mix of new and old in general and this really drove the point home.
