Leaving Parc Guell

As we finally made our way to the exit of the park we got to see the lovely colonades which few people seemed to stop by. We also saw the famous fountain with its creatures which had massive queues to get 'that instagram shot'. We did not bother with that but looked at it and moved on to other interesting parts before finally leaving. It was a nice thing to see but a different time is advisable. Just too many people but MV did manage to surprise TV wih a sneaky photograph.

More of Parc Guell

We continued exploring more of the park and came to the more well known parts. These were of course much more crowded and it was really hard to get any good photographs so we focused more on the experience of seeing the lovely tile work and natural shapes created by Gaudi.

Visiting Parc Guell

We walked up to Parc Guell and we found it to be exceedingly busy. Luckily we had pre-purchased tickets so got in fairly quickly. We stopped by the playground so the kids could run aroun a bit and we could rest with a beer. We then walked through some of the more natural parts of the park. There were some pretty cool structures, one of which had a geocache that SV found.

Tibidabo rides

The rides at Tibidabo were mostly the normal ones with a few exceptions, but they were all the more exciting considering the view from each of them. We really enjoyed riding them. Hands down the best ride was the airplane which is over a hundred years old and was set up as a way for people to exerience flight without having to pay the price of a real ticket in the early days of flying. It was such a cool ride and being perched on the edge of the hill really felt like flying. It would have blown people away in those early days of aviation. We then headed back down the mountain and to our next destination via taxi.

Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor

Overlooking Barcelona is the Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor. It is an interesting and pretty church which is split ino a couple of levels. We visited both the bottom and top section. It was quite nice and not too busy. We also admired the view with the telescopes before we headed back down to the rides.

Going up to Tibidabo

We made our way to the top of Barcelona, Tibidabo, a place even KT hasn't visited before despite living in here. We tried to take a short cut through the park but the adults couldn't quite make it through, meanwhile EV enjoyed showing off how easily she could get through. We eventually rode the very nice funicular to the top where we got a fantastic view of the entire city and surrounds below us.
