In the first half of the match MV was on the bibs team and was playing against a friend of hers. In the meantime SV found her soccer team mates and had a chat. EV enjoyed running around and see people as well. MV did really well as a defender. She managed to stop a number of attacks from the opposing team.
We all got ot go and watch MV play her first ever soccer match. It was fun as it is a small pitch and they play 4 versus 4. She got to choose her jersey and picked number 16 which she was quite excited about. She plays for the Parrots who are a mix of boys and girls. They end up playing other teams in the same club every week. MV enjoyed the warm up and getting to know her team mates.
We got to go to the grand final between Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory. We randomly ended up sitting next to some of our friends, and saw several more at the stadium. It was quite a close match which we enjoyed. It ended up going into extra time and Melbourne scored with 2 minutes before penalty kicks would have decided it. We all really enjoyed it with a particular highlight being getting an ice cream.
After the match we all had a snack, although EV was the hungriest. She got pampered as she had her snack with KT painting her nails. MV and SV played in the backyard with their dolls and a pool. This was a continuation of a game they started before the soccer match.
We have all been waiting for the start of the soccer season. So we all went to see SV's first match which was conveniently within walking distance. It was a lovely morning and the match had a very relaxed feel to it. The girls took a little while to get warmed up and get the rust off, but played much better in the second half.
All the other kids were busy doing something else so EV was chuffed to finally get the entire trampoline to herself. The rest of the time she kept getting bounced around by the bigger kids, so this was really a pleasure for her. She definitely made the most of it.
After the beach we had to walk back up the pretty trail. We were a bit concerned about who would have to carry EV up the hill, but she ended up walking the entire kilometre by herself. It was quite impressive actually, she seemed to really enjoyed the bare foot walking experience. The other kids played a word game all the way up the hill and so managed without complaint.
