On our first full day in Rome we decided to take in some of the main tourist sights. We started with the Pantheon which we walked to via some of the small streets which had some of that Roman character. The Pantheon itself is quite impressive even with the changes brought about by the christinisation of the Roman temple. Nagymama really enjoyed that and the coffee and gelato afterwards.

Arriving in Rome
It has been a dream of Nagymama to visit Rome and last time we saw her we said we would take her. So this trip we are making good on that promise. Richie and Jeanna also joined us for the trip but they made their way separately. We flew in style by taking advantage of our lounge passes so that Nagy could have a nice experience. When we arrived in Rome we all took a taxi to our apartment which turned out to be great, even had a view of St Peter's cathedral. Didn't take long for all of us to make ourselves at home.

Uncle Richie arrives in ST
Uncle Richie and Auntie Jeanna have joined us in Stara Tura for a while before we all head off again. We all met up at Teta Andula's house for lunch. It was Richie's first time meeting Andula as an adult and it was good for both them. Andula made a cake for all of us and to celebrate SV's birthday a bit early, she even thought to include candles. After lunch we sat and talked, although some of us talked a bit less than others and caused a bit more trouble instead.

Exploring playground in Stara Tura
TV took the girls to scout out some of the local playgrounds around town. There are several new ones that didn't exist while he was young. They were again dressed like twins which makes them look a bit tough apparently because the other kids were a bit intimidated by them at first.

Collecting mushrooms
Teta Andula took us collecting mushrooms in a very nice forest near Stara Tura. We had a lot of fun and both the girls got into the hunt. We ended up finding quite a few mushrooms and walking several kilometres without even realising it. The best part of course was to eat the mushrooms the next day.

Our little cat
On our way home from Nagy's house we found a little cat in the street which was injured. We stopped and brought it home to feed it and treat its wounds. We managed to restore its sight and gave it some good food but unfortunately it was just too late and it died. SV was really sad about it and she made a little clay kitty from her left over horse clay. She also drew a little card which she gave the cat to be buried with it. It was a hard, but good life lesson for her. The cat was our first family pet other than the fish back home and his name was Theloneus, Theo for short.

Hanging out with Nagy
MV and SV both had a lot of fun with Nagy. They both found something different to do with her. The best thing is that both SV and MV are enjoying Nagy and are starting to speak Slovak.
