First time using a straw

Today we gave her a bottle with a straw to drink from for the first time. After showing her how to use it for 2 minutes sure started using it on her own. She even knows how to hold it up and drink all by herself.

In her office

When we reshuffled our house after getting our flat screen tv, we created a small space between the dining table and a small coffee table. SV has figured out how to climb over/between the chairs and get into that space. She then conducts some of her business from there. Consequently we call it her office, and some days she puts in long hours in there.

Afternoon tea in the QVB

QVB stands for the Queen Victoria Building which used to be a marketplace but after several different uses has now been converted into a tourist shopping mall with exclusive shops. KT and SV have afternoon tea with Grandma CeCe who takes their photographs.

The park and beyond

We went to the park to get SV exercised to get some of her energy out before dinner. When we first let her go off on her own at the park she likes to take a minute to check the area for any problems before setting out. She eventually ended up in the swing which she really seemed to enjoy.
After the park we went across the street to look at a store that we have been meaning to visit for quite some time. SV meanwhile had a small snack to replace some of the lost energy before finding a christmas tree made of drift wood with which to play.

Legos!

KT and Grandma CeCe went to the toy library and brought back a special treat. SV and TV were in heaven!

Watching the ducks

On the way home we stopped off at Victoria Park which has a little lake in the middle filled with ducks and other water fowl. SV really enjoyed looking and gesturing at the various birds out of her royal coach. She then got down and looked through the local flora before perusing the photo bag. She even managed to have a nappy changed in the great outdoors much to her satisfaction.

Czech restaurant

We went out to lunch to a Czech restaurant in Newtown that we have been meaning to go to for a while. The food was quite good and it hit the spot on a cool day. SV really enjoyed eating the knedla (steamed dumplings), which were far superior to the sac baby food we offered her at first. She was also enjoying watching people walk by in front of the restaurant as she nibbled on her lunch.

Breastfeeding week posters are up

We went to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital to take a look at the marketing posters that KT and SV were featured on. Here are some photographs of the installations as they appeared at the hospital along with our two stars.
