On the boat Part 2

We had a delicious lunch spread that Damian prepared with help from Carlos and Yos. The appetisers and snacks were in fact so good that we didn't actually get around to eating the mains. Oh well, we had them for dinner instead. After lunch the swell was calmer and the weather warmed up even more so that we dipped our toes in the water and some of us even went swimming. SV ended up being quite busy with her work which included reading the navigation charts and charting out our course. Since she knew the proper course, SV decided that she should take over the helm and she piloted us back to the marina where she shared a snack with little Ted.

On the boat Part 1

KT found a fantastic deal to hire a boat for the day so we invited Carlos, Damian and Yos to come out with us. We made a day out of it as we drove up to the Hawkesbury River to go enjoy the weather on the water. When we got there the weather turned out to be really nice, and instead of a small motor boat we ended up going out on a beautiful 34 foot yacht which was very nicely appointed. Before lunch it was still a bit chilly and the swell was up which some people didn't like, including SV. KT had to show her a program to calm her down a bit. However, as the day progressed she grew bolder and had more fun.

Baking cupcakes

SV has been getting more and more interested in cooking. She sees us doing it and they practice a bit of cooking/baking at school as well. Here is a long set of photographs showing her preparing the cupcakes along with a video of one of the most important parts in the baking process.

Rainy day out

TV and SV went outdoors despite the drizzling weather to allow KT to sleep after she worked overnight. The two of them went to the post office to pick up a package before heading to a park. It was bit of a fight to get into the playground as there was only one unlocked entry. It was worth it though as SV had the run of the place.

After the playground TV and SV went to warm up with a tasty lunch at Recharging Burger. SV took advantage of the couches and library to catch up on her reading. She had a big lunch, she likes hamburgers especially with beetroot, to make up for all of the energy she spent running around.

Adios Port Douglas

Alas it's time for us to go home again. It's been fun but Sydney is having good weather again so might as well go back. SV is an old hand at this and relaxes pre-flight.

Pre sleep ritual

SV is getting very used to her night time ritual before going to bed. Sometimes she tries to speed it up by combining tasks such as brushing her hair and teeth. KT is supervising to ensure that corners aren't being cut in the process and also reading a story.

Easter present

We received an Easter gift box from Eric and Cheryl who we must thank for the wonderful gifts. SV had a lot of fun opening the gifts and was being quite cheeky about it. Below are a couple of photographs, and a rather long video. She is quite chatty and the video shows how articulate she now is.
