Little snow bunny

After doing a bit of sledging we made another snow man but because of the bright sun we tried to have SV wear ski goggles to reduce the glare. It worked for a few minutes. We decided to go back to the car to shed a few layers as it was really getting quite warm and SV climbed into her seat to have a snack. Since we were all quite hungry we went into the lodge for some lunch thinking that this is going to be expensive as most ski lodges are. It turned out that not only was it not too pricey, the food was actually quite good too. It was a good way for us to recharge before heading out for a bit of skiing.

Sledging for the first time

Finally SV had an opportunity to go sledging (sledding) and she had a very good time. First of all we had to get a family photograph though for the photo album. Since it was a nice and relatively warm day SV was happy on the sled even when she rolled off into the snow. She was quite keen to walk up the hill by herself at first but soon got tired and wanted to be pulled. After a while she got enough confidence to go down a ways by herself as well, and was proud of her achievement.

SV thought it was funny and interesting all of the stuff she had to put on to go to the snow. She was quite excited to get her sled ready to go, but of course we had to wait for a toilet break first.

New house, new toys

When we arrived in Talbingo at our rented house SV was super excited to get out of the car. Then she got even more excited to see all of the new toys that she could play with, and bunk beds to boot. The house even had new books for her to read which as usual ended up being her favourite activities during our stay.

The Big Merino

Australia has a number of road side attractions which are big things. The city of Goulburn has the Big Merino, a giant ram with an associated gift shop. Previously we have stopped at the big pineapple on the Sunshine Coast and the big fruit bowl in Cromwell. This time we stopped in for a browse and lunch on the way to the snow. SV was quite impressed and enjoyed walking around the merino before we went inside for a browse. A tired kid then sat down for a lunch and break before we got back on the road.

Snow prep

In preparation for the snow SV tried on her new snow suits. Both are pretty highly visible so we shouldn't lose her in the snow. At first she didn't like it, but pretty quickly she had fun jumping around and being silly.

Sleepy sleeperson

After a tough week of activity SV was quite happy to snuggle in to our bed for a nap with her new little mermaid book. She managed to match her cardigan to the bed spread so she would remain inconspicuous.
