Last of the gifts

Again we want to thank everyone who has been so very generous with gifts for SV, she has enjoyed everyone of them. Here she is opening the last of her gifts.

Pre Christmas in the city

This year there were quite a few things to do just before christmas. SV found a Santa beach scene at one of the shopping centres and managed to play with everything including the sand. She was in a good mood, skipping down the footpath. At World Square the stairs had some led lights that created patterns which were fascinating to not only SV but a lot of the passer-bys.

Getting a Santa photo

As a Christmas tradition SV has to get dressed up and stand in a queue to get her photo taken with Santa. This year the queue was quite long, but SV was actually patient and ended up taking a good photo. The photo is here if you missed it: Santa photo 2013.

First professional hair cut

SV finally got her first professional hair cut at a salon. The first photograph shows her hair before she went to school and the rest of them show her hair in different stages of being cut after school. She really seemed to like the experience although she was a touch apprehensive about the hair dryer until James showed it on himself. There is also a short video of her getting her hair cut. James was pleasantly surprised at how well she handled herself and even talked to him a little bit.

Dinner with Carlos and his family

We used our GoGet to do a bit of shopping and then consequently drove to Carlos and Damian's house for their dinner invitation. Carlos had quite a few of his family members there, most of whom we met before, and it was catch up with them again. As usual we had a great meal and SV played with everyone. She really seems to enjoy dinner parties and gatherings like this because it gives her lots of people to play with.

Hycner's going away

Richie's and now our friend Hycner and his wife Chantell are moving back to the US after living in Australia for a year. We went to Surry Hills to bid them farewell. SV did really well considering it was all adults and she was a bit too short to talk to them. She entertained herself very well, and afterwards the three of us went to a South African restaurant where she had our undivided attention.
