For our final New Year's in Sydney for a while we all went up the street to watch the fireworks at 9pm, including EV. We then put her and MV to bed before waking MV up to ring in the new year. We really wanted to share this special celebration together as much as possible. It did not disappoint and really started a massive year for us. Stay tuned to see how it unfolds for us.
MV had her friend Chester visit and they had fun playing games including some video games. SV also had her friend Chloe come over another day and they all watched, sang and danced to Hamilton. Both visits were fun and exactly what they needed.
One of MV's presents was to go to the city and pick out a necklace. It was pretty much the only thing she asked for so we decided to have TV take her and have a day. They took the bus into the city and had a nice lunch. Then they went looking at a few jewellery stores before going to Bunda who are now are favourite jewellers. MV really enjoyed the day and the special attention she got. She also learned quite a bit about jewellery and style before picking out a lovely necklace.
For the first time we all took KT to work on boxing day. That meant EV could see where she was born as did the other girls since we got a tour provided by KT. Her co-workers were really nice as they all said hello and were friendly. MV was also excited to find a poster of her as a baby. Unfortunately we were not there during World Breastfeeding month because then pictures of SV would be alll over the hospital too. The girls enjoyed seeing where KT works and getting to meet some of her co-workers.
We had a bit of a celebratory boxing day brunch before KT had to go to work. We did the traditional crackers and made sure to wear our hats as we read out the corny jokes and played with the silly toys. Even bunny joined in the festive atmosphere, although not too closely.
We got up and opened the presents from Santa before having breakfast. It was an intimate morning with us just enjoying a couple of presents together. The girls got to play some of their games and new toys afterwards. MV especially enjoyd playing her new Zelda game which she had been wanting for a while.
We again drve to Ashburry to look at the lights. We also drove around our neighbourhood to take a look. It was really nice as we managed to get back just before a storm. The lights this year were quite good so it was a nice way to enjoy this tradition.
