Towers and food

After playing in the park we went to take a look at the dancing fountains beneath the Petronas Towers. Some photographs were of course taken before we headed inside to get some dinner. Thankfully the shopping centre was air conditioned and we could really enjoy our meals. The centre also had some briliant decorations for Deepavali which we checked out from above.

Petronas park

The park beneath the towers had a really big playground which was absolutely teaming with kids. Ours of course ran off and played on the various equipment too. This was just about the only public park with equipment that we saw on our travels through KL so it made sense that it would be full of families, especially on the holiday weekend. None of us minded of course and we enjoyed it, although at the end all of the girls were absolutely sweaty from the play and humidity.

The petronas towers

We again took the metro to the see KL's biggest tourist attraction, the Petronas Towers. They used to be the world's tallest buildings for a while and they are still quite a sight to look at. There is a nice park at the foot of the buildings which we walked through and from where we got some nice photographs. The park also had a water bubbler with what we thought was the tastiest water. It was quite busy around there but we didn't mind walking through the crowds since everyone was in a festive and relaxed mood.

More time at the pool

We spent a bit more time at the pool although there was a small problem when EV cut her foot on a broken tile. She then convalesced on the lounger. The rain came after lunch so we retreated back upstairs to relax a bit before the evening's activity. The tropical thunderstorm was quite impressive though and we watched it pass overhead.

Skewers on the street

We took the metro to one of the more touristy streets of KL where we found a street seller who had a wonderful range of skewers for sale. We all ate heaps of skewers of mushrooms, capsicums, chicken, beef, lamb and more. They were all delicious especially when washed down with a cold beer or juice for the shorter crowd. It was fun walking through the crowded streets and to see all that was on offer. We got some fruit and juices too including everyone trying durrian.

Wrapping up at the bird park

After a quick snack and hydration break we moved on to the second part of the bird park. Staying hydrated was really important since it was so humid as evidenced by the sweat marks (not getting splashed). We didn't let the humidity stop us though as we fed the fish and looked at the chicks. Luckily the gift shop was air conditioned though.
