SV's portrait from Carlov's Most

As we were walking back towards our accommodation SV saw a portrait artist and she really wanted to get her portrait done. He got started quickly and soon her face began to take shape. We were all quite fascinated by the process and watched each stroke of pastel. It was a bit hot so KT and the two younger ones headed to walk up the tower to get a cool view of the city. TV stayed with SV until the portrait was finished. SV was really happy with the result which we all agreed was great.

Heading into the city

We caught a bus and tram back to the old part of the city where we found a little museum to visit. We were trying to go and see the Klementinum but they had sold out tickets for the day so we instead found a little art exhibit which also had a nice little sitting area for the kids to do activities. That turned out to be just what we needed, a little break and some quiet activity.

Wrapping up at the Praha Zoo

We explored other parts of the zoo and took some fun photographs with some of the props. There were also two pairs of monkeys staring at each other at one point. The animals were starting to get tired  as the day warmed up and so we wandered by the Australian exhibits before calling it a day. The girls of course loved seeing a kangaroo again, but they all loved doing hand painting on the rock. This was interesting since we had visited Red Hands Cave in the Blue Mountains several times, where we got to see this type of hand art.

More Praha Zoo

We got to see a wild hedgehog walking along, which was quite a pleasant surprise. We also enjoyed watching the polar bear getting a cold snack, but this one was not out in the open. EV was very excited because she got to see the wolves which was one of the big reasons we chose to visit the zoo in the first place. We also got to take the chair lift down to the lower level of the zoo to look at more of the animals down there.

At the Praha Zoo

The zoo wasn't terribly busy as we got there despite it being a beautiful day. We made the most of it and started wandering through looking at the various exhibits. The exhibits were quite good with a fair few being interactive which kept it interesting as did the great view. The favourite one though was the Przewalski's horse. The girls liked looking at the real animals and pretending to ride the bronze one. It was really good to see MV helping EV and them working together.

Going to the zoo

We decided to go see the zoo because it is meant to be quite nice and has great views of the city. We decided to catch the tram and bus to the zoo because it was easy and almost as quick as driving. It was quite fun to ride the trams again.

Portraits on the bridge

As we were walking back across the Charles bridge the girls got interested in getting their portraits done. EV and MV really wanted their profiles done by a man wielding some impressive scissor skills. They turned out really well and we were all very satisfied as we found dinner on the way back to our accommodation. Although there was a little bit of controversy along the way with some spelling.
