A 6 month old baby is one of the most inquisitive and ferocious creatures on earth. Everything is theirs for the taking and everything goes in the mouth. This particular specimen is trying to put action into it by starting to scoot towards her prey. Beware the talons (we haven't clipped her nails in a while).

Not everthing is as good as cucumbers
SV is generally very adventurous when it comes to food. Some of her favourites include red capsicum, french toast and of course, cucumbers. She has, however, taken a strong exception to lumpy mashed potatoes. Everybody's a critic.

Flight #9
The last flight of our World Tour was with Qantas on the A380, which was a good thing because we sat on the tarmac for 3 hours because one of the runways in Hong Kong was being cleaned after a tire blew up on a landing flight. Actually, we had a bit of a fiasco even before that with our luggage. We were prepared for a fight because our tickets were purchased through Swiss Air which gave SV a full 23kg baggage allowance but Qantas only gives 10kg, so we knew we would have to argue the point, which we did. Of course the fact that our bags were a bit over even that didn't help much, but the ladies at the check-in counter were very nice and somehow made it work that we didn't have to pay anything which was a great improvement on the $370 they were originally going to charge us. SV's charm came in handy there.
Once on the plane we were delayed but as the photograph shows it was not exactly a full flight, and we got the entire 4 seat row to ourselves! The flight crew were really nice and the Captain even came around to explain about the delay. The delay did gives us a chance to feed SV her first baby food in the form of a pear and apple puree. She seemed to like it, but afterwards she wanted some of mum's best vintage to wash it all down. Once airborne we had a very nice flight arriving into Sydney without incident and having slept 5 or 6 hours.
That concludes the coverage of our World Tour, thank you to everyone again for making it so wonderful. Keep watching though as the photographs and videos won't stop just because we are home.

Last day in Hong Kong
SV had to tolerate one more day in the sling walking around Hong Kong. She did get a few new outfits from it, and KT got a new handbag/nappy bag. We met up with our friend Calvin for a dim sum/dim sim lunch in a restaurant near his old stomping grounds. The food was as usual very tasty and we tried a few new things based on Calvin's recommendations. After lunch he showed us a few more street markets before he had to run to catch a bus (to photograph). There is a big underground culture of bus spotters (omnibologists) who take photographs of buses, especially those about to be removed from service. During our stay in Hong Kong we rode our fair share of buses, but in this picture we were on the MTR (metro). It was a good last day before we headed out to the airport.

Little entertainer
SV loves to entertain and be entertained as she demonstrates in the following photograph from a Hong Kong drugstore where she has 4 staff paying attention only to her. She took full advantage of the front pack today, looking around and partaking in a drink of water too. She really didn't mind being in it, but when she did get out she rolled around quite a bit.
Ever since Teddy and Ivy showed us the frozen Coke machine we have been slightly obsessed with it. The thing about it is that when the you turn the Coke over and it freezes, it creates a very fine slush that is is very refreshing.

Disneyland Hong Kong
We didn't have a chance to go to Disneyland in California, but we did go in Hong Kong. We got free tickets from our hotel so we figured, why not?! SV received a pair of Minnie Mouse ears which were a bit big, so we decided to leave them until she got a bit older and could wear them, most likely at the California Disneyland.
There is a dedicated train line that goes to Disneyland with specially decorated trains which have some memorabilia and fun windows among other things. Once we alighted from the train we walked down the main boulevard to the actual resort where we took a photograph in front of the Mickey portrait and train station. SV was wearing a very Minnie Mouse dress so we just had to make her try on the ears as well to complete the outfit. She was really enjoying her self despite the heavy rain at times, although she did attack at one point. After a lunch of dim sum and noodles we went on It's a Small World After All where SV had her lunch before being dazzled by all the wonderful colours and characters. Towards the end she got a bit tired but remained very alert lest she miss something. She also quite enjoyed the Jungle Cruise, although she didn't see what the big fuss was considering she has already seen some of the animals in real life.

Teddy and Ivy
We had a chance to catch up with Teddy and Ivy for dinner and a walk by the harbour after. The restaurant we went to was fantastic, and the dishes they ordered were great. SV was a bit cranky after a long day of walking around, but she enjoyed being held by Teddy and Ivy.
After leaving the restaurant we walked by a giant Ironman promotional prop, and couldn't resist having our photograph taken. We also got our photograph taken by a giant Olympic Torch near the harbour. When we were walking around Teddy and Ivy showed us the frozen Coke machine which is fantastic.
