SV and TV headed to the Gold Coast for a short trip. It was quite an early flight, so we had breaky at the airport which worked out well. Then we had a short and pleasant flight up before getting our tiny hire car.

Some of us head to the US
MV and KT head to CA via NZ. They had a good flight and MV is now a seasoned flyer knowing exactly what to do. She enjoyed the onboard entertainment and the great seat where the seat folded out flat for her. KT managed to partake in the entertainment as well which was good. The seat wasn't quite big enough for her to lay flat though. Alas it was not business class.

Playing her ukulele
SV likes to play her ukulele in the evenings sometime. We like to encourage that without forcing it on her. Seems to work, although we should probably try to encourage her to do it a bit more often. She enjoys when she plays though.

Central Park pool
It was a really hot day, particularly since it's technically autumn, luckily we got an invite for a swim at Central Park. Our friends live there and invited us for a swim and a game of Uno. It was good fun, particularly with the cool location of the pool amongst the green buildings. The pool got plenty of natural light with the giant mirror reflecting sunlight down. It was also pretty neat being able to see down into the shopping centre and busy street below.

Trying out cars
SV and TV went to look at a car to check its suitability. SV was mildly interested, but she found the pond with lily pads far more interesting. Even more interesting than that was the kids play area where she started reading books. She did agree to go on a test drive and afterwards gave it a thumbs up, so we'll see how we go.

A view from Balmain
We went for a quick visit with Auntie Aimee and Uncle Nick. They had a pressie for the girls and we took in the view on such a sunny day. It contrasted with the other time we visited when we could hardly see anything due to the rain.

Three Sisters steps
We walked around to the Three Sisters which are accessible down a very steep set of stairs. On the way we saw a couple of silver animal statues and one very live red bellied black snake. It was actually really pretty from a safe distance. We also managed to make our way onto the first of the Three Sisters before proceeding further down the steps towards the valley floor. Part of the way down we stopped and turned around because it was starting to get late and we had already done a fair bit of walking. We did take in the gorgeous views before heading back.
