Once we were at Convict Lake we made ourselves comfortable before going out and exploring. The girls really enjoyed all of the rocks to climb on and keeping an eye out for deer. We then went to the local restaurant for dinner with some of the family. We got to sit at the kids table, which suited us fine as we could eat quickly and head to be.
We headed off to Convict Lake for Uncle Richie and Auntie Jeanna's wedding. It was a long drive made even longer by all the road works. We stopped in Markleeville for a rather tasty pub lunch. We then continued on via Mono Lake all the way to Convict Lake. By the end we were tired and happy to be out of the car despite it being a comfortable trip.
We were shopping when we randomly ran into Auntie Lanie. We had a chat with her for a while and the girls picked out some cool glasses and other stuff. It was a treat to run into her unexpectedly. The girls also enjoyed their new kit and were very happy to pose for a photograph.
Grandma CeCe was over helping out when we got an semi-unexpected visit from Cheryl. She stopped by with some presnts for the girls, especially MV's birthday gifts. Cheryl then read the girls some of their new books which they thoroughly enoyed.
We went over to Grandma CeCe's and Ron's house to drop off a bunch of stuff for them to hold for us. While there the girls played and chatted while we organised. We didn't quite manage to get everything done, but we are slowly getting through it.
We took it really easy on our first morning because it was such a long flight the day before. The girls made potions and played with the toys while we unpacked and organised. Then we all went to lunch at the local taqueria. It was a really nice start to the trip so that we could get into things right after but in an organised sort of way.
We have a lot of business to take care of and so we are again flying to America. The most important business of course is to attend Uncle Richie and Auntie Jeanna's wedding. We had a whole heap of stuff that almost didn't fit in the maxi taxi, but luckily it did. As with most of our holidays we felt pretty good once we nestlled into the lounge and had a glass of sparkling. This time around we flew via LAX and since we couldn't see the actual Hollywood sign because of smog/clouds, we found a substitute. This trip reminded us of why we dislike flying through LAX, including a literal circular bus ride on the tarmac which eventually ended at what seemed like a bus terminal. At least we and all of our luggage got to Sacramento safely.
