Katoomba Falls hike Part 1

The Blue Mountains have a great variety of walking tracks of various difficulty and length. There are waterfalls and vistas to see as well as pristine bushland to explore. We decided to do an easy walk along the escarpment to look at the vistas and to see Katoomba Falls. We got all bundled up and headed off to the cable car to start our walk from. We then started our little walk with SV leading and making sure that she didn't lose us. She tackled all of the obstacles on her own and making some funny faces with TV to boot. Eventually she decided that it was probably best to hold our hands so that we didn't get lost, and possibly for her to be able to do jumps.

Blue Mountain get away

Since it's winter we decided to head up to the Blue Mountains and have a wintry get away. We found a cottage that had a fireplace (actually two) and a lovely rustic feel. SV was really excited to run around and explore the place and play with the new things. She made trains out of coasters and various other titbits. She also got to make necklaces with her new bead set before settling down for the evening. That was all in one room too.

On the motorcycle

SV watched as TV got home on the motorcycle from seeing a friend. She then wanted to get on her little scooter and ride it too. Then TV decided to let her sit on the motorcycle itself and wheeled her around. She liked it at the same time as being slightly apprehensive. That wore off pretty quickly though and she wanted to then stand up.

Sandwich dinner

SV was enjoying her sandwich for dinner and was captivated by KT baking biscuits.

Headbands

SV is now getting to the stage where she is enjoying having things in her hair. This time she decided that it would be fun to have all the headbands on at the same time. Then she walked all around the house and climbed on the furniture. She is getting quite adept at climbing on things in the house (it's just great).

Potty painter

Lately SV has been working on her art in bathroom. Specifically on the toilet. It must be just the right height, or else the light is good. We aren't quite sure.

Ice skating treat

This is a special post with a twist. We have 4 x 6 prints of the three photographs of us ice skating and building a snowman. We will send one photograph to each of the first three people to post a comment on this post. Let us know which photograph you would like and we will send it out with a little note.

Ice skating with a penguin

When SV finally got onto the ice she was really excited. We got her a helper penguin which she was quite fond of, especially because she has been in a Pingu phase. Even though it was quite busy on the ice we still had a fantastic time and SV enjoyed riding on the penguin and later pushing him. While pushing him she practised pushing off and worked on her balance on the ice. Next time she will be able to try on skates and really skate. Unfortunately this time they didn't have any in her size.

We managed to scrape together enough ice in the corner for use to make a little snowman. That made SV really happy though as one of her favourite songs at the moment is about building a snowman.
