Swimming at Little Bay

We managed to get down to Little Bay and found a park straight away so we could get to the beach nice and quick. We were quite impressed as it is quite a nice little bay with a great beach. There was lots of snorkelling there and heaps of racks for us to climb all over. We had a great time exploring and just enjoying the first really warm day of the season. Eventually we made it home to meet up with Uncle Mat and Auntie Gemma as they took SV to see a movie as an early birthday present. They went to see the new ninja turtles movie, and as preparation they played the video game for a while.

Heading to the beach

Before we managed to get to the beach we had a stop at the shops to get a snorkel for MV. We also saw a shipping container which was the same size as the one we are likely to get so we did a bit of quick measuring. We were early so had to entertain ourselves and the girls had a bit of fun running around.

Mini school

MV and SV have put together a bit of a curriculum to start teaching EV some of the kindergarten basics. EV for her part was quite keen to learn. They were all really good as they all worked on different things, but generally were all learning.

Started packing

We are starting to go through everything and beginning to pack. The entire house has to be sorted and pre-packed in time for our container arriving and being packed for its trip. The girls started working on their rooms and making some tough decisions on what to bring, what to donate or sell, and what to throw in the bin. Not an easy job for anyone but they are doing really well. Being very good about only saving some of their favourite things.

Dropping off KT

We dropped KT off at the airport so she could go to her midwifery conference in Adelaide. It was tough on the kids this time so TV took them to their favourite park to climb around. Afterwards we went and got hamburgers too. They really like this park because there are so many things to explore and try out. They can be really creative how they play there and come up with all sorts of games. Also different levels to challenge themselves with, like the monkey bars. MV and SV were really encouraging of EV trying to get  across one set and giving her pointers to help. On her final attempt she managed to make it across, so we decided to end on that high note and get those hamburgers.

More EV party and animals

After scaring everyone with the crocodile head, EV actually got to hold a baby crocodile which she brought out for all the other kids to pat too. The two snakes she held were quite popular as well. After all of the animal excitement we went back inside so that everyone could have a piece of the ice cream snake cake. EV really wanted a sparkler instead of a candle too because she really liked the effect and wasn't terribly keen on blowing out candles. She had a great time and her friends also had heaps of fun.

EV's 5th birthday party

EV really enjoys reptiles and specifically snakes at the moment. So she invited a number of her friends over and we had a pair of reptile handlers come to talk about and show some fascinating reptiles. The kids really enjoyed running around in the backyard and playing games like pass the parcel. When the animals arrived though, they were all fascinated. EV got to hold all of the critters and was certainly not scared of any of them. She also got to play a little joke on the other kids as she ran out with a crocodile head which she thought was hilarious.
