Evening Seoul walk

 After dinner we walked back to the hotel through the twilight. It was great to see the lights to come on and all of the people enjoying the city. We enjoyed seeing some of the historical buildings lit up amongst the skyscrapers, really highlighted the integration of Korea's modern and ancient history. Seoul is such a vibrant city with multiple precincts full of restaurants, markets and even running groups making their way through the city. Unfortunately our time was quite brief and we made it back to the hotel and had one more look out of the windows before getting ready for our flight to London.

Korean hot pot dinner

 We wandered into a smal neighbourhood full of various restaurants. After looking at a number of restaurants we finally found one that we liked. It ended up being quite busy with a great theme. We ended up ordering a hiot pot and a few otehr small dishes. SV thought she ordered lemonade, but instead got a plate of lemons. They didn't go to waste as we used them in our water and she ordered another drink as well. The food was great and we had a really nice meal.

Visting the Cheonggyecheon Canal

 We got to show this great canal to KT because it is so interestingly placed right in the middle of the city. It is also such a nice feature and place to walk. We all again very much enjoyed walking along and crossing backwards and forwards across it. Such a nice, calm place to have in a busy city. Plus it always seems to be nicely decorated, so makes it even more fun to visit.

Shopping and food in Seoul

 We went shopping as both KT and SV needed some lotions and potions. One of the shops had a massive animatronic horse which was quite impressive, so we naturally took photographs with it. All the ladies had a good look around at things before we proceeded outside where we had Korean street food snack. It was a touch fishy and not our favourite but it was ok. As we continued walking we saw heaps of street art which we all really enjoyed.

Venturing out into Seoul

 After checking in and enjoying the amenities on offer at the hotel we decided to head out to explore Seoul. There was a small park next to the hotel with a couple of fun sculptures and it was a great place to have a little run to stretch the legs. We walked through one of the market streets to see some of the stalls and what they had on offer before getting to the bigger central district. 

Arriving into Korea

 After a short flight we took the train from the Incheon Airport into the centre of Seoul. We had a 23 hour layover and we decided to use the time to have a day in Seoul and a good sleep before getting on the long flight to the UK. We previously really enjoyed Seoul and KT hadn't been, so this was a great opportunity to show her some of the places we enjoyed. We were all very excited to be back to enjoy the great mix of modernity and history, and of course the fantastic food. The AREX train was again very reliable and quick with an interesting view of the city. Once at Seoul Station we had a short walk to our hotel made even easier by the fact we only had our carry-ons.
