Before coming to Slovakia TV did a little research and found this little zoo with a big playground that was close. We finally had a chance to go see the animals, a surprising number of them were Australian. Unfortunately it was a bit of a cold day, but we certainly didn't let it stop us. The girls really enjoyed the goats, rabbits of course and the guinea pigs. They enjoyed feeding them all and giving them pats, Nagy did too.
We went to visit the Mohyla Milana Rastislava Štefánika with Teta Andula. It was a place we have never visited despite it being quite a patriotic Slovak place. It is where General Štefánik is buried. He was a very influential person in the establishment of Ceskoslovensko. He was apparently quite visionary as well in what the country could be. The girls enjoyed the view of the surrounding valleys, but didn't really care as much about the history of the man himself. They enjoyed climbing up and down the steps though and appreciated the architecture that let them do so.
Auntie Andula had lots more games prepared. They started out working on a puzzle and another game before moving on to doing a painting together. The painting was a gift and they each had a different job. Teta Andula supervised so that when each of them finished their part they could bring it all together into a single painting.
The girls had a couple of friends come over to play. They were blowing bubbles and kicking balls around on the street. Turned out to be heaps of fun and they all reconnected through it.
We also went to the new Dubnik, or Dubnik 1 for a visit. There was so much water in the lake because of all the rain and snow that the playground was almost underwater. Luckily it wasn't and we got to play on all of the equipment. We were really happy to see that the merry-go-round was still there and spinning nicely. Some of the other equipment like the swings got a bit of an upgrade though. There was also a new sandpit with toys which was added. After all of that running around and playing we all had quite an appetite for lunch. Good thing too because the soup was delicious, especially with a our friend Ricky the cat.
We went to the new Lake Dubnik, or Dubnik 2. It is the one that is less developed and not one the girls have been to before. It is also the lake that TV used to go to with his parents as his dad used to fish. TV used to go swimming there too when he was little. The girls enjoyed pretending to fish and had another pretend game in progress. It was really nice and peaceful there, we really enjoyed it and hopefully next time it's warm enough for a swim.
TV had some business to take care of in the city. Luckily there was a playground right outside and the girls were very happy to play. They were in the middle of a princess game when he came back. Afterwards they went across the street to a new grocery store. It was actually a fun little morning with no pressure.
