SV goes to work

After what seems like ages, SV is going to work. TV's work that is. She has been asking for a couple of months to see where TV works. So she finally had a chance and came along for the full day. She really enjoyed meeting all of TV's co-workers and seeing the office. Since it was school holidays there were other kids as well so she got to play with them for a while. She got to draw on one of the smartboards which is probably the most expensive sketch pad ever. She was really behaved the entire day even at lunch and didn't seem bored at all. Oh, and yes the office is confusing enough that a map is required.

Saying good bye to Flood St

Alas the time came for us all to say good bye to our apartment of 8 years. TV made portraits of everyone after asking the question "How do you feel about leaving this place?". Then a final group portrait of the entire family.

Cleaning up Flood St

We gave ourselves plenty of time to clean up the apartment at Flood St by overlapping our rents by a week. It was a very good move which really reduced the pressure on us to do everythign very quickly. Luckily our landlord was planning on renovating the unit and was very understanding about the wear and tear of us living there for so long. We had some fun cleaning up but it was quite emotional seeing SV's height marked off on the wall. We just couldn't bring ourselves to clean the marks off.

MV's first Christmas morning

After a good night sleep and actually a sleep in for all of us, we came downstairs to see what Santa was up to. SV pointed out that he must have been hungry as there were only crumbs left of the snacks we left him. The xmas stockings were a hit with the locals as they both tried them on and tried walking in them. The big green box was also a big hit with both MV and SV for various games.

MV's first Christmas Eve

We had an early dinner so that the girls could enjoy the christmas atmosphere and open a few gifts before bed time. They both had a lot of fun and we enjoyed watching their joy. Thank you to everyone who sent us gifts, again you were all too generous.

The new house

We are slowly moving into the new house and getting things unpacked. Once we are fully unpacked and sorted we will do a before and after comparison. It's been a lot of work so far and we have quite a bit of work left. MV and SV are doing their best to 'help' as well. We rewarded ourselves with a cafe lunch although the ice cream at the end was not all that it was cracked up to be.

Last day at Flood St

Sadly it was the last day and night of us living at our Flood St house.
