We walked to Buckingham Palace with Uncle Mike and were lucky enough to catch the changing of the guards. Today it was the gurhkas and they didn't have the traditional big hats, but it was still nice to see. Without some sort of event Buckingham Palace is a bit underwhelming so we made it more fun by jumping. We headed home soon and the girls played on the green again before dinner.

St James' Park
We enjoyed a walk through St James' Park on our way to Buckingham Palace. It was so vibrant and green with lots of animals around. The girls really enjoyed it as they tried to befriend a squirel and a goose. There were a couple of goslings as well and a big pelican too. Such a nice place to stroll through with lots of people taking advantage of the nice for London weather.

Meeting up with Uncle Mike
We walked through some lovely gardens on the way to meet up with Uncle Mike. We saw how some protestors deface one of the buildings with fake blood due to immigration which were seen as barbaric. We also got to see Scotland Yard which is near the Foreign Office and other government buildings. Mike was really kind to show us around and talk about some of the history.

Golden Jubilee Bridge
KT and TV were excited to visit the Golden Jubilee Bridge and show it to the kids. This is where they got engaged nearly twenty years prior. It was fun to be back and share it as a family.

Double decker snog
The girls saw this bright pink, how could they not, double decker bus selling frozen yoghurt. They of course asked to get some so we said sure. The view was hard to beat and it gave us a chance to sit for a few minutes and even get a cocktail. Such a nice place to sit and relax, one could not be blamed for sitting there the entire afternoon. It was a great recharge before we caught up with Uncle Mike.

Walking along the Thames
After lunch we walked along the Thames to see the London Eye and just enjoy the really nice day amongst the Londoners and tourists alike. The girls made sure to look for and try to communicate with the squirels and have some fun amongst the grass.

Westminster Bridge and hot dogs
We walked over Westminster Bridge to have a look at Parliament and the River Thames. The river was quite dirty but it was still a nice view. What was even nicer was the hot dogs we got on the bridge. It was really nice to then eat them in the shade watching the river pass by in front of law makers.
