SV's photographs from the trip

SV got to again bring a camera and here are some of the highlights as captured by her.

At the airport

Once through customs and immigration the excited travellers explored the airport a bit before settling in at the lounge. Being seasoned travellers they SV and KT made EV as comfortable as possible. When it came to getting on the plane everyone was ready and relaxed for a good flight.

Leaving for CA

EV, SV and KT all headed to California to see family and friends. They were all excited for the trip, although to be fair EV had no idea since it was going to be her first flight. It was fun to go to the airport together but it was hard saying good bye. MV and SV played really well together before they headed off and then she was quite sad about their departure. She got to do the parking ticket which improved her mood a little bit.

Trick or treating 2018

A couple of more friends came over and after another group photograph we headed out for some trick or treating. It was really good fun as our neighbourhood again got into the spirit. Speaking of spirits, there were plenty of other masked fiends roaming the streets looking for sweets. Our band of spooks was well behaved and always found a partner to hold hands with as they crossed the road, luckily there were plenty of hands to be held. Eventually they did get tired, so we headed home for some dinner which turned into dinner theater as each of them took a turn performing for the others as they ate. Overall a very successful Halloween which was enjoyed by all.

Getting their costumes on

First off, it was Setsuna's 2nd birthday and she got some special snacks although she didn't quite know what the big deal was. As far as the costumes, SV had thought of the idea of being a red back spider quite a while ago, but it was Grandma CeCe  and KT who designed and made the costumes. The costumes were good and spooky, although MV's pink spider costume was also adorable. EV was caught in their web, but didn't seem terribly worried. They practiced their scary spider faces before joining their friends for a traditional group photograph on the stairs.

Milo and pumpkins

In order to prepare for carving pumpkins the girls made some milo. This gave them the energy to carve their pumpkins. Initially they were a bit disgusted by the pumpkin pulp inside and needing to scoop it out. They got used to it and helped out a bit, but in the end TV did most of it. They got to design and partially carve the pumpkins, although SV was certainly apprehensive about using a knife in that way. The end results were quite good and spooky.
