On SV's big day we spent the morning, and actually the day before, preparing for the party. We had roughly 40 people who RSVPed as coming to the park for her big day, and we actually ended up having about that many. Of course, it wasn't necessarily the 40 that said they would be there. So SV had plenty of well wishers there on the day along with the many overseas friends and family who were thinking of her on the day.
We had a great time with Mat and Adam winning the two raffle prizes which were meant to be chosen by the birthday girl but instead were chosen by KT. We all appreciated the wonderful presents that everyone gave SV, and she especially enjoyed getting into the wrapping with her helper Adele. Thank you all for making it a great day.

Stripey walker
We went to the part with a certain little bee who only wanted to walk around the entire time. She got mad when we tried to get her to do anything else. It was quite funny because she didn't even really want to go on the slide or swing. I guess she had a goal of walking unassisted before she turned one and needed all the practice she could get.

On the boat
The day after Uncle Carlos had his birthday, Auntie Leah and Auntie Cheyanne had theirs. Unfortunately Cheyanne couldn't join us for the fun as we hired a boat on Sydney Harbour for a fabulous day of boating. The weather was cooperative and we had a fantastic time. SV didn't like the life vest she had to wear but eventually she got used to it and had a good time. Here are some of the photographs from the day.

Hunter Valley wine tasting
Uncle Carlos had his 30th birthday and so we gathered everyone who was in town and we went wine tasting. SV didn't taste any wine but she enjoyed the trip for the most part. She enjoyed walking around in the wineries and playing on some of the playground equipment. She really enjoyed playing with Grandma Marta though throughout the day. She managed to pose with everyone including the birthday boy.

The many faces of SV

Another sunny day
We went to Circular Quay to ride the jet boats which we haven't yet done in the 5+ years in Sydney. While SV was too little to ride the boat she did have a chance to walk around the waterfront. She really enjoyed that a lot. She was rewarded with water and later an ice cream which she has come to eat quite by accident. This was her second time though, and she knew exactly what to do, thanks to her mum.

Happy 1st Birthday SV!
Happy birthday to our dear SV, you had a fabulous first year. There were plenty of people at the park today helping you celebrate and even more people all around the world thinking of you. We are all looking to see what you get up to next and we are all cheering for you.

The arrival of Gma Marta and Gpa Brad
We got two new visitors, Grandma Marta and Grandpa Brad, for a couple of weeks. They had a short stop in Fiji before visiting us so they had time to recuperate and rest up before SV shenanigans started!
Happy to see Grandma and Grandpa! |
Here, taste these glasses. They are DELICIOUS! |
