Easy afternoon

After a big day, we had an easy afternoon playing at home. The girls played with each other very nicely. They also enjoyed time by themselves. SV was quite happy to read her new books, but she was just as happy reading our loud to MV.

The funny faces of EV

EV has been working on different facial expressions by mimicking those around her. She has some pretty funny ones. In the evenings she tends to go through her entire repertoire for a bit of fun.

Aquarium and beyond

The most popular attraction was the boat ride into the penguin exhibit, so popular in fact that we went around twice. After that we had to go for a feed as everyone was getting hungry. After eating it was time to move on. On the way back to the light rail we stopped in for some ice cream which was welcome by all. On the light rail heading home they were all talking about their favourite parts and playing with their souvenir animals. It was a really good day out and SV was really pleased with her day.

More from the aquarium

The aquarium has recently been remodelled and it is now a bit more interactive in nature. The kids had fun trying everything out and seeing the various exhibits. Each of them had something different that appealed to them so we did a fair amount of marshalling. The kids didn't seem to mind though as they each got to spend time at their favourite exhibit.

SV's big day out

Instead of having a formal birthday party for heaps of friends, this year SV invited four of her close friends and we all went on an excursion into the city. We took the light rail to Darling Harbour to visit the aquarium. All the kids had a great time playing together. They were very well behaved especially once Grandma CeCe set out some rules and we reinforced them. They are all getting so grown up and cool now.

EV is maturing every day and she has been practicing her facial expressions on all of us. Grandma CeCe has been on the receiving end of quite a few of them and really enjoying.
