Going to Port Douglas

The next couple of entries will be about our short trip to Port Douglas which was very relaxing despite SV being a bit sick.

Before boarding the plane SV was happy to check it out from outside along with a bunch of other planes at the airport. She seemed very comfortable with the entire flight experience knowing exactly what we needed her to do during each stage. On the plane she managed to eat almost an entire Subway club 6 inch sandwich showing us that flying certainly doesn't affect her appetite. It helped that she had two personal butlers to hold her show for her and take care of her other needs too.

It wasn't all good though, on our drive to the hotel she got very frustrated due to her lack of sleep and threw one of the biggest tanties ever. So when we got to the hotel she needed comforting. A bit of Krtko (Thank you Andula) helped her feel better though just in time for bed.

Castle Buttercup

One of KT's co-workers gave this toy castle to SV as a present. This is the first time we put it up because it is quite large. SV really enjoyed it though and she wanted to do everything inside it. It was funny because when she went in the static made her hair stand up. SV called herself Princess Buttercup which may or may not have been suggested by someone, and consequently the Castle got it's name.

A small change on the site

SV has been working hard as have we. You may notice a change on the blog today which you can feel free to take advantage of and thereby support us.

2014 Easter Show Part 4

Typical to an event of this type there were all sorts of foods on a stick. We certainly partook in some of them including the cheese on a stick, hot dog on a stick (corn dog), corn on a stick and chips on a stick. After such a stick based lunch SV had to get some of her sillies out so TV took her down the giant slide. It's a bit hard to tell, but she had a good time. After that it was time to go home for a nap because somebody was exhausted, nearly falling asleep on the train back.

2014 Easter Show Part 3

After a bit of a snack SV was ready to look at horses but they were not in their stable so she made due with the horse shaped posts. She also had fun dancing to the Andean flute music that one of live music venues had. The Easter Show also has a long tradition of having show bags available for purchase. These show bags have all sorts of toys and candies which are of various themes. We thought for sure SV would go for a Dora showbag, but she surprised us by choosing a ladybird one instead. KT took SV on the double decker carousel this year and she wanted to ride the moving horse. It was fun to watch her go by and get a wave, we suspect that she felt pretty posh riding a horse at such a height.

2014 Easter Show Part 2

In this second part we look at some of the animals we saw. SV enjoyed interacting with the animals, but did give them a respectable distance. Interestingly the only animal she wasn't scared to pat was the goanna (a large lizard). While she enjoyed the animals, it certainly appeared that she enjoyed her ice cream even more (not unlike KT).

2014 Easter Show Part 1

This year again we went to the Royal Sydney Easter Show at Sydney Olympic Park. SV is now at an age where she is starting to appreciate these sorts of events. She had a good time even though she was a bit tired. Here are some photographs from the first part of the day including us getting ready. SV was sure something fun was going to happen and so she was in a good mood, although she did take some rest breaks in the pram to recharge a bit. She certainly liked the miniature train which was similar to the one she rode previously at Bronte.

Another Easter package

We must have been very good to receive so many packages this year. This one came from Babichka Marta and SV was more than happy to look through it. She had fun opening everything up and trying some things on. We are again very thankful for the nice package.
