Sydney's Chinese Garden

KT checking the Red Silk Cotton Tree

TV noodeling for Koi

This was from our trip to the Chinese Garden yesterday. We ended up walking in it for two and a half hours. Then we sat in the Tea House and had a delicious Oolong tea and watched the colors change as the sun started to set.

TV's School

Here are photos of some of the buildings at the University of Sydney. The first five photos are of the main building on campus. This building houses a central courtyard that used to be tennis courts, but now has grass for relaxing. One half of the building is built in the style of Oxford and the other half is modeled on Cambridge University. This building also houses the Archeology Museum and the Art Gallery. One wing of the building is home to the Great Hall which looks like a church hall. It is where most people graduate. The last four photos are of other buildings from the older part of the campus. This school really makes it feel like you belong to an institution rather than just a school. Some of the photos are from a camera phone so the quality isn't the greatest.

The Simpsons Movie

So we just got back from seeing the Simpsons Movie. It was really, really good, especially if you are a Simpsons fan. We got to see it opening night which was exciting, but paying $12 per person with a discount was less exciting. Never thought we would say this, but we miss the cheap movies from the US. http://youtube.com/watch?v=fMl3S-V99GQ

Some quick info about the site so far

We have some links on the right side that we thought would be useful to some. The Australian quarantine website has information about things that can be sent or brought into the country. The other link is a website where we have been able to find good deals on travel, including plane tickets, hotels, and car rentals.
If you want to make comments on any of these topics you don't need to sign up for anything, simply make an anonymous comment and just put your name somewhere within the comment so we know who it is from.
If there are any questions we will gladly answer them either via email or on this site. Suggestions for poll questions are also welcome.(Once given they become the sole property of this website and no royalties will be paid).
To call us I believe you have to dial 011 to call internationally, then 61 which is the country code and then our number. Thats the word on the street.

Apartment Photos

Here are some photos of our apartment. We just picked up our packages that we sent from the US and so there are clothes and shoes all over the place right now. These are just to give an idea about the size of the apartment. It's small but we are trying to maximize it. It's really amazing how much stuff you can fit into a space when you get creative. As the photos show we haven't yet found space for everything, but today we went shopping and bought some shoe organizers to help clean those up.

Poll Question

As the first order of business we need to clear up the age old question of the flushing toilet and which way the water will flow. I know that myth busters did a show on this and found that it depended on the toilet more than the location. We decided to use our sink since it doesn't have jets or anything fancy and seems to have a consistent shape to it. We will post a video of the results a little later, but we want to see what you all think. Also somebody needs to check and see which direction the water drains in the US because we forgot to check before we left.
