The girls got an idea to make edible slime from marshmallows and corn starch, Then they dyed it with food colouring. Turns out the idea of edible slime is better than the result as the slime was neither tasty nor particularly slimy. It was great for them to experiment and try things out though.
MV has been learning to play chess. Just like SV before her she is starting to enjoy it. She said it was a complicated game but she is enjoying the challenge of it. She was really thinking about her moves and played a good match despite TV not going easy on her.
The girls were playing a dancing game on the tele and worked up quite the sweat. KT and TV joined in as well and it turned into a bit of a dance party. The songs and videos were so funny / bizarre that it made it even more fun.
No, no, it's not a new show, rather it's what the kids were doing. They went looking for bounty on the streets of Leichhardt. EV found a playdoh grill set while the other two found a book and a different version of Guess Who which had animals. It was quite a successful hunt in the end. MV also decided that she wanted to dress up like a witch and even coloured her hair gray, just because she wanted to.
The girls had a good time playing in the sand at the beach while eating snacks. They buried SV and built sand castles. Although the highlight was when Weekend Dad twirled them around and they got to feel like they were flying.
Uncle Mat has taken on the moniker of Weekend Dad because he does all the fun things with the kids but none of the discipline. This time we went to the beach for a bit of a swim. EV took a bit of time to warm up to the idea of a swim and really only got excited with the help of SV. MV and SV on the other hand couldn't shuck their clothes fast enough and get into the water. Once the small amount of fog burned off and the sun came it out it was actually really nice in the cool water and the girls really enjoyed themselves.
It was a hot and sunny day but TV had to take the girls out so that KT had time to work on her Uni work. They had several conditions, needed to be near the water for a breeze, needed shade and not too many people. They found just such a park in Balmain which even ended up having easy parking. It was really nice place which we will go back to because there are some swim baths and great views of Cockatoo Island.
