Pop up nature park

There is a new pop up park which has been created using natural materials. There are also a couple of plinths which had some interesting educational information. The girls really enjoyed it. They climbed all over and played with every aspect of the park. The little shelter proved to be quite popular and we enjoyed sitting there.

MV's cheerleaders

For her first match we all came out to support her. We had quite a good set up as well which included snacks. Eventually the girls wanted to run around and get some kicks in a well.

MV's second soccer season

MV has kicked off (pun intended) her second season of soccer. She had a great time playing and it helped that her team won both matches on the first day. She almost scored two goals but was just denied by a diving tackle and the post. She has some great touches, but is still working on not being scared of the ball. She is very quick and strong though and has improved from last year.

MV's first performance

MV has been going to a drama class for the last week and has quite enjoyed it. She and her classmates wrote, made costumes, produced and finally performed their own play. MV had a really good time and we were all very happy to be able to go watch her perform. She did a fantastic job and was absolutely buzzing with excitement afterwards. She managed to make friends along the way which is always a good thing too.

Home theater experience

SV really wanted to watch a movie with Katie on their ladies day. They couldn't quite make it to a real theater so SV created a home theater experience. She made tickets, signs, cinema numbers and even showed previews prior to the main film. Of course they had snacks and drinks while getting the best seats in the house which folded out flat.

Finishing off at the Easter Show

The last thing we did was to go look at the carnival games and go ride the two storey carousel. The girls got to look at some of the old timey games from the 1940s and 50s which were pretty cool, but unlike in San Francisco we couldn't actually play them. They did get to play a few other games like digging for dinosaur eggs, fishing and ring toss. They won quite a few prizes and had a great time. We finished the day off on the carousel as the sun was setting, so it was quite spectacular.

More Easter animals and whatnot

After a little break we continued walking around the animal halls looking at cows, alpacas and horses. There was one really calm and friendly alpaca that the girls got to cuddle. The owner let them cuddle its neck and was going to let EV ride it but she didn't feel comfortable doing that. We also randomly got to see a parade of strange vehicles before the girls went to select their showbags. We all then needed a bit of a rest to restore our energy and be able to finish off the show.
