Summer luge

The luge was a fun experience for all of us despite a rough start. SV was not being careful in the car park and consequently got in trouble which made her sad. It didn't take long to get her into a better mood though and we had heaps of fun racing each other down the hill.

Noodles for lunch

We had some left over noodles for lunch, and they went down very well with the locals. It was quite a jovial lunch followed by some craft time. SV and KT worked on some beads after MV went for an afternoon nap.

Kostnice Sedlec (Sedlec Ossuary)

We drove to the Sedlec Ossuary which KT and TV visited last time as well. It was still quite interesting, but this time it felt a bit more like a tourist trap. There were so many people there that security guards were needed to keep order. The ossuary looked worse for wear with some of the designs damaged or removed for repair. It was still a very interesting place to see and SV really enjoyed looking and talking about it. MV a bit less so.

Leaving Kutna Hora

On the way out of Kutna Hora we made a couple of stops to see several sights including the painted house, the Lego store/museum (actually pretty cool) and Vaclavske Namestie (Vaclav Square). The square was possibly the most disappointing as it was hardly even a square, more like a car park with a couple of trees.

Dressed up for the backyard

MV and SV both put on some nice dresses for the backyard. Since spring is well and truly here we did some garden work. We managed to get some nice plants of various sorts. In previous weeks we set up some creative pots and an irrigation system for them, so everything was ready to go. We just put them in place and gave them some water. After planting we had a bit of fun as well, enjoying the improved backyard.

Chrám svaté Barbory (St Barbara's Church)

We paid our entry fee to visit Chrám svaté Barbory, although TV was slightly annoyed at the rather expensive entry fee. That's because last time he and KT were here they got to enter for free. We had to admit that it was certainly worth the price of admission to see the inside of the impressive church. We were all struck by how nice the church is and the peaceful mood inside. MV was even a bit quieter and slowed down. We also went down into one of the crypts which was not quite as interesting.

Enjoying Kutna Hora

The next morning after getting out of bed, we walked around Kutna Hora some more and made it back to Chrám svaté Barbory via one of the parks. We again walked by all of the fantastic statues which reminded us of Charles Bridge in Prague. It was such a lovely day and the view of both the church and the surrounding town was fantastic.
