While at Babicka's house we got some of the bikes out of storage and started to make them functional. The girls did some things themselves and were even more excited to ride the bikes as a result. They had heaps of fun, even EV who got to ride on the back of the bike. They also pretended that EV was a princess and pulled her around in a chariot.
It was very nice to catch up with so many of the family and be able to have dinner together before opening some presents. We were all heading to different places over the next few weeks as well so being all together was even more special.
We caught up with a bunch of family for a belated Xmas at Babicka's house. First we decorated and made food though. Everyone had a job and we all had fun getting things ready.
One of our first visits in California was to see Cheryl. She had some wonderful presents for a belated Xmas which was very nice of her. We had a great time seeing her and catching up.
Before we left we had to set up Setsuna for her long flight. The girls made sure to give her some extra cuddles and kisses before she headed off to the airport before us. We then got picked up by our friends the Posstles who took us to the airport. It was a rather emotional good bye of course. Once we got to SFO we were really happy to pick up Setsuna who did not seem at all fussed by the flight or the long drive to Sacramento. She was happy and so were we, especially when we saw her coming towards us on the forklift.
After a wonderful and long time it was the day when we moved away from Sydney. Over the last year the day seemed to be so far away but all of a sudden it was here. Sydney was a wonderful to call home for so many years, and we built very nice life and family there while raising our three girls. So it was quite an emotional day for us all as we had to say good bye to our home. Since we had quite a late flight we had time to finalise the packing and still get out to have a nice lunch. We had one last look at the harbour as well as we walked back and relaxed. We tried to have a bit of fun too while we were at it.
We of course had to go on to the pier and the girls really wanted to make sure to jump off of it a few times. Even KT joined in with the jumping. We then had an ice cream before heading home satisfied.
