MV concluded her second soccer season and the team got together in the park again for a year end celebration. It was really good fun, but also a little bittersweet as the team would not stay together for next year. To be fair MV is considering not playing again next year anyway so it may be a moot point. It was definitely good for her to play this year though, to learn teamwork and other life lessons. We were proud of her because when she tried she really played well.
We have been getting around a fair amount lately. Doing all sorts of things, mostly trying to get back to normal. We had some lovely dinners out, including with a great one with our friend Rachel. The girls always brought their own style and attitude no matter what we were doing.
EV and SV were really keen to spend some time outside in the sunshine. They were particularly keen to do some gardening to see whether they can get some of the seeds to grow. EV also helped with some of the pruning and weeding of the garden while SV was focused on planting seeds and changing the soil in the planter boxes.
There was a patting zoo at the fete where the girls saw some goats and fed them. We also found SV's photograph of Setsuna in the photography competition. Unfortunately SV didn't win the top prize but it was still a good photograph that she took all by herself.
The girls got to do some of the arts and crafts. They made jewellery and origami boxes among other things. Afterwards they went off and played on the equipment with some of the other kids, although SV found a friend who she went off and explored with.
After not having a fete last year the entire school and even wider community were excited to have it back this year. We got there nice and early and stayed to the end. The big girls got wristbands for the entire day while KT volunteered at what ended up being the most popular food stand. TV and EV took advantage of the new playground and visited with KT.
EV drew her first rainbow on the whiteboard and she was really proud of it. She asked us to take a picture of it so of course we did.
