The girls had a great time and stayed from the time the Fete Day started until it finished. They even helped clean up some of the rubbish and other things. EV had a great time and felt pretty independent as her friend Vinny came and they got to go around together and even shared an ice cream.
This year's Fete Day is going to be the last for the girls at LPS. So it had a special significance and we all wanted to make the most of it. SV and MV spent a fair amount of the day playing with their friends and then coming back to do some activities together, including with EV. They got to go on all of the rides multiple times and do all of the activities. SV won three free throws on the chocolate coin toss in class and she shared them so that each sister got a free toss. EV did a bit of studying as they waited in the queue, and it paid off because she won a king size chocolate bar.
SV had some of her friends come over to help make things for their year 6 stalls. Each year the 6th graders do stalls and sell things to other students as a way to raise money for their graduation dinner and event. SV and her friends were making bookmarks and beaded jewellery to sell. They did some brain storming as well and how to make more exciting products.
We attended the book parade and this year SV got to do some of the presentation. As a library leader this was her opportunity to lead the event and she enjoyed it. Both her and MV also enjoyed walking in the book parade with their peers. Showing off their books and characters was very exciting. Plus it was a very good way for the whole school to demonstrate their enjoyment of reading and books.

SV was the iceberg which sunk the Titanic from real life and the book The Titanic Detective Agency.
How did you do?
The two of them have been getting some cards from the grocery store promotion. The cards are meant to be collected and traded, but they came up with a clever game to play with them instead. It is similar to War where one certain cards are more powerful than others and the object is to collect them all. Their game had some interesting variations where a person could 'invest' and go again if they lost. We didn't quite catch all the rules but they have been playing it several days now.
TV took the girls to swimming where all three of them had a quick swim together in the big pool. SV then went off to her squads lesson. The other two stayed in the pool and swam and jumped and generally frolicked. MV really enjoyed the unstructured swimming as she moved up to the harder swim class which is more serious. Playing with EV made it even more fun as she got to play and be the instructor as well.
