Villa in Pissouri

 On our arrival to our villa in Pissouri we found our very own cat butler Steeven. Actually Steeven was more of a car taker of the villa and we ended up feeding him a throughout our stay. The girls were very excited to have access to their very own pool and the only way we could get them to stay out of it was to take them down to the beach. Pissouri Beach is really safe with virtually no waves and lovely warm water. The only downside is that as most beaches in Cyprus it is quite rocky. We only tested the water before we had a lovely dinner overlooking the beach and sea. Afterwards we hurried home so that the girls could make sure to get in that pool before bed. We also found more friends, a nest full of swallows living under the eves. 

Cyprus via Athens

 We were heading to Cyprus for the next part of our holiday but we made a short stop in Athens first. The Istanbul airport is really nice and the lounge definitely did not disappoint. We really enjoyed it because not only was it spacious but it also had several private areas and of course delicious food. The short flight was good but our layover in Athens ended up being quite rushed as we landed a touch late. We just made it across and soon headed to Cyprus. It was such a nice day as we were landing in Larnaka and was a great part to this relaxing part of our travel.

Leaving the pools and Turkey

 Unfortunately we had to leave the pools and head towards Istanbul, but not before having one more swim after breaky. We had the pool just about to ourselves and it was such a nice way to get a travel day started. We were all quite relaxed afterwards and enjoyed the rest of the day. EV also had a major milestone, her swimming took a big step forward and she can now swim across the pool by herself.

Second pool

 While we enjoyed the outdoor pool we found an indoor pool too. So naturally we had to go inside to try it out as well. Then it was a bit of an in and out adventure between the pools. Eventually we got pretty tired and had a bit of a break. Some of us had a relaxing cocktail as well. We then headed upstairs for a quick shower and then a tasty buffet dinner.

Staying pool side

 We found a hotel on the road and decided to pull over for the night. It was a nice place and we took advantage of the pool since it was a nice hot day. We had to purchase bathing caps to be allowed to use the pool though. It was kind of funny and it didn't detract from the fun.

More from Metropolis

 As we explored Metropolis more we learned about some of the history of the site and got to see it in person. It was really interesting how settlements were built one on top of the previous ones. To see in person how medieval fortress walls had Roman statues and columns was pretty cool. We also explored some of the public baths and of course toilets. We were really glad to have stopped to see this site, especially to have it by ourselves.
