The girls were keen to explore a new park that we have often driven by, but never stopped at. So we did just that and it turned out to be a good move. Lots of challenging things to do. SV really enjoyed looking at the flock of pigeons while the other two loved climbing on the rock climbing walls.
EV and MV wanted to play a game together and they pulled out this one which has actually been a favoured game for a while now. SV was happily reading in her room and didn't join in this time. The younger two really enjoyed playing together though and stayed with it until we had to go. They even packed it away without complaint at the end.
KT wanted to have a relaxing birthday at home after a couple of very busy weeks. She got to stay in her pyjamas all day and the rest of us tried to let her relax as much as possible. The girls were very sweet in giving her their presents and treating KT nicely. KT ended up having a nice day.
Eventually we headed back as it was time to get the kids into bed. On the way back they got to play and see a few more things. The spiral fountain was a fan favourite until EV tripped and got wet, then it was not as much fun. What was fun though were the lit up miniatures. We all enjoyed them and the interesting light prisms which created weird spectral ghosts of us.
After a good dinner we went for a walk to check out at least some of the light installations. There was quite a lot to see but luckily it wasn't too busy. We all quite enjoyed looking at the lights but EV was absolutely amazed. Some of the installations were interactive like the hoops which played a tone when touched. One of the favourite activities was jumping over the steps in the pond though, which had nothing to do with Vivid, but was more fun in the semi-darkness.
We went into the city to take a look at the Vivid light festival. But first we had to eat something and dumplings were on the menu. Of course we had to have the delicious crispy eggplant as well. We all dressed warmly because of the winter chill, but EV had the best outfit hands down.
Despite not scoring a goal MV got player of the match this week. She played really well and got after it. She had heaps more fun too.
